Pont neuf at dawn

A little "postcard" photo to start the weekend. Another shot of one of the most beautiful bridges in Paris : le Pont neuf. I showed it here and here already - all with different light - but I am sure you will like this 3rd view, taken in the morning from the lower right banks. Have a great weekend and meet you here Sunday for the Primary election day. (PS: Blogger seems to be very very slow at the moment, my apology - even if I'm not responsible!)

  1. Lovely view esp. with the other bridges in the backround. I don't remember what year it was, but a much younger phx-cdg has a picture of herself sitting in a cove there when Christo covered up the entire bridge in cloth.

  2. Eric!!!!!! I was so touched by the message you left! All I can say is merci, merci, merci!!!

It was very special for me because, well it's YOU, and because I know how busy you are. It means a lot, really! I am taking care, thanks, and am always trying to enjoy life as much as I can!!! Wherever I am, Rio or Paris or elsewhere ;-)

Oh I really want July to arrive soon so that I can enjoy beautiful Paris. I mean, look at this view of Pont Neuf! How can anyone not want to be there!

Have a great week end and vote well!
Je t'envoie un gros baiser aussi!

  4. Une p'tite Tour Eiffel par ci, un p'tit Pont Neuf par là, ça fait toujours plaisir.

  6. Tis slow, but we don't mind as it's you, Eric!
Lovely photo. Now, to the interesting bit.... what were you doing walking around at dawn? mmmm a romantic evening/night, perhaps? Do share. I won't tell anyone...

  8. Lovely shot of a lovely bridge that evokes so many memories of times in Paris in different seasons, different circumstances...Sigh!

I'm off to the cinema to see "Comedy of Power" (L'ivresse du pouvoir) with my favorite..Isabelle Huppert..this Chabrol film has only recently been released in the US. I thought it might be a good film to see as our minds and hearts are with France during the election. I just want what is best for France, my ancestral and spiritual home...c'est difficile..non??? Bon Week-End!!!

  10. Lovely perspective and I see the bridge got a bit of "lifting" since I saw it last in 2004 ;-)

  11. Oh yes, I remember it too phx-cdg, the Christo wrapping of the Pont Neuf. I was young(er!) to. It was September 1985 and there was no PDP at that time...

You're welcome Monica, I would visit you more often if I had more time, I swear ;)

Kate, yes, actually I used the maximum of my zoom to take this shot.

    Tomate. N'est-ce pas ?

    Nikon. Thank you, you too.

Lynn. OK, Since it's only between you and me... I confess I cheated. It was dawn for me, that is... 9:30 o'clock! And I took this photo on the same day I took the Marathon's ones. No very romantic is it?!

Pont Girl. I bet you like photos about Ponts... (OK, it's a bad one!)

Kpgallant. L'ivresse du pouvoir. I have not seen it but Chabrol, Huppert, Berléand you won't be disappointed for sure. Although I just checked and critics are not that good actually, I'm surprised.

Sally. Sorry for that. So far the new Blogger seem to work better than the old one. I will have a good day voting ;) Thank you.

Isabella. Well you know, Not very surprising that the oldest bridge in Paris needs a little face lift once in a while...

  13. The bridges of Paris are some of the loveliest I have to say. They are all a little different, but the views from them and the surroundings are always so great.

Lynn...I'm getting really tired of you complaining and not getting your butt over here. Just jump on the Eurostar (or get that guy up off the floor or out of the woods) to bring you over. No excuses!

  14. he he Michael, feel all little-girly now and told off (and it's not all unpleasant i have to say lol). Can't afford to take time off at the moment this is my problem; have to grab the work when it's there as it's been a really dry period. My man is out of the woods, is no longer in a prostrate position on my carpet exhausted from my treatment of him (let's get them wondering here shall we?) BUT he's back at work with shifts of all hours. Not sure when i shall be seeing those jeans again. lol.
Believe me, if i had the resources and time available, i'd be there with you in Paree Michael, sharing coffee, making sketches, taking photos and knocking on Eric's door like naughty teenagers.

  18. Lynn I love this song. I have some cds from Lisa Stansfield, really like her.

I say, escape to Paris WHILE those jeans aren't back!

  20. oh and Eric, don't worry about that. I don't update the blog daily for lack of time, so I wouldn't put this kind of pressure on you! :-)
