San Francisco
What?! What on earth is a photo of San Francisco doing on a Paris blog?! Well... For two reasons. 1st, because today is a theme day, and, the theme is... "Post a photo of another city (than yours)". And why did I choose SF? Well, and that is the second reason, because I'll be there - well, actually more in the Silicon Valley, but it's close... - from the 15th to the 22nd of June. I go there for work, but I can save some time for fun and I'd love to meet those PDP regular visitors who live in the region. So let's try to work something out if you will.
PS: I am currently on vacation so I cannot reply to your comments. I'll read them when I return, on May 7.
At least 75 other city daily photo blogs participate in this theme day today, why don't you pay them a visit? Remember, due to time difference they might not all be ready when you visit them.

You will LOVE San Francisco. Hope you're having a good time---whereever you are!
ReplyDeleteI'll see you when you get here - I can't wait!
ReplyDeletehmm there's often a slightly, very slightly different meaning to the theme once you post it, Eric! I understood it to be a part of your city that you felt LOOKED like it was from another country. There are lots i could have posted if it was just another city he he. This is a beautiful shot though. Hope you have a great time there and a good DP party!
ReplyDeleteYou need to come back and take a better picture! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell, since Eric brought it up... I was gonna email you all later tonight but now seems a better opportunity:
ReplyDeleteKPGallant
Clo
Buzzgirl
(Euh.. did I forget someone? I think I did...)
How does a coffee-meet at Dolores Park Coffee (18th and Dolores) this coming Saturday, May 5th, [yes, election day! ] at approx. 5:00 p.m. sound?
San Francisco sounds quite French!
ReplyDeleteWatch out or you could "leave your heart in San Francisco" ;-)
ReplyDeleteYes Tomate what about Ame? Isn't she in that area, i'm not sure...
ReplyDeletehmmm so if Eric is not in San Francisco yet, WHERE is he??!!
ReplyDeleteOh those DP meetings... how I wish I could join them!
Damn, I'll miss your by less than two weeks. It is a good idea to offer to meet your PDP visitors during your travels. They may want to take your photo.
ReplyDeleteMan, something needs to be done in St. Louis relating to Eric's work so he can come here. I'm soooooo jealous! Yes, do be careful you don't leave your heart in San Francisco. Even worse would be what Data did - leaving your head in San Francisco!!!
ReplyDelete(if there's any other Star Trek geeks here they'll understand it!)
Eric actually is in a secret place meeting with secret people. You know the old saying: if he told you, he'd have to kill you. He's too kind for that.
ReplyDeleteMonica: as usual, I'm the other guy.
Tomate - you forgot rickemmanuel :)
ReplyDeleteWho else is there? Show yourselves!
I'll be there Saturday!
Hi Eric,
ReplyDeleteWhile you post a photo of SF, I post a picture of Paris, so your addicted readers can have a look if they can't live without their daily shot LOL
Have a great time out, wherever you are!
Oh, and Pont Girl, thanks for the welcome home. Back to work tomorrow. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteAh, SFO, just a mere 6 hours away from me by car. I wish I could meet the West Coast group this weekend! Have a blast! Hope you guys take a photo and ask Eric to post it! (Tomate: you could put a cute Tomate sign in front of your face :-) At my old office, they had a monthly birthday club, and when it was someone's birthday but
ReplyDeletethey didn't want to be photographed, they would color a funny face on the back of a paper plate and hold it in front of their face - it was cute.)
Eric, if you're ever down in L.A., I will take you out on the town!!!
How's about the logo for The Pasta House Co., tomate? Just print up their logo nice and big and use it to cover your face!
ReplyDeleteOh la la!! Imagine my surprise to see my San Francisco on PDP!!! Well...for all of you who can't get to a picnic on the banks of the Seine, think about a little trip to SF!! We'll all meet Eric with baguettes of Sourdough and perhaps a Crab or an artichoke or two!! LOL!! We don't have the Seine, but we do have the Pacific, a Bay and plenty of grassy Parks to picnic in!
ReplyDeleteYes..San Francisco is quite French and I'll explain the reason for that later[I'm tired now]but we do have one of the largest French expat communities in the US[130,000 in the Bay Area]plenty of French and French-influenced restaurants, two famous wine producing areas close by[Sonoma and Napa Valleys]and a FrenchChurchon a spot once called "French Hill"!
tomate...I will email you about the Saturday meeting...ca va??
johnnyp..look back at yesterday's comments...you and tallulah...and that cartier bracelet..Mon Dieu!! LOL!!!
KPG...Right on!! Tallulah was my kinda gal. She was more outrageous in real life than in "Lifeboat".
ReplyDelete"Post a photo of another city (than yours)" This sentence makes sence :), but I did not see it last night, I found only very different instructions, but I was so late!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy holiday and whole May!
Mimmu again!
ReplyDeleteSence does not make any sense, so, change my sence to sense!
Nice photo Eric. Oh what a rollicking good time you all have over here in SF, I mean Paris! Two of my favorite places where I've left little bits of my heart.
ReplyDeleteDes vacances en ce moment et une autre escapade en juin, joli programme! Profite-en bien et bon 1er mai.
ReplyDeleteyou captured san fran really well!
ReplyDeleteNice one, Eric.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your vacation.
Quıck hello from Turkey - I'm typıng on a Turkısh keyboard ın a Russıan Internet Explorer, not easy!!
ReplyDeleteI know thıs theme day ıs a bıt odd Lynn, one does not know whether to post a pıc of another cıty or sdomethıng that remınds another cıty.
Anyway, I'm happy to see that I won't be alone at thıs PDP meetıng on the West Coast (how chıc!!) I'm relly lookıng forward to ıt.
I go back to the gym now, better look good mıd June!
Great photo! San Francisco is fun city. Don't forget to have clam chowder when you're over there!
ReplyDeleteYou DO look good, Eric. Don't overdo it, will you. We like you just as you are.
ReplyDeleteTurkey! Ooooh how exciting. All that gym work will be undone by Delights!! I adore those, don't let me near them! I am glad you are having a good break. Theme Day is looking interesting around the world, you probably haven't been able to check them all, but we're all doing the rounds!
I am sure Paris, like us, is missing you! x
San Francisco is nice. I liked it. I like your photo of it too for theme day.
ReplyDeleteMy Theme Day is of a city unto itself, with its own zip code, and a portrait of the "Peashooter" at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Hope you like flying.
Wow! what an stunning view! that's pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteI'm having a lot of fun today with all the confussing posts... I post another country too!
Picture from San Francisco, when you're in Turkey! Enjoy ur vacations Eric. And enjoy your time in SF when you'll be there for work.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised that no one has mentioned that SF has been called (not by me) "The Paris of the Pacific"

ReplyDeleteLOL Jeff. Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteHow lucky Turkey is, Eric's been there last year on his vacation and now he's back there!
hmmm, I do think he's planning on leaving his heart in San Francisco, he's even going back to the gym to look good while he's there...!
Hey - that's my city! Love it when my home is on my "home away from home"'s daily photo website...
ReplyDeleteOh la vache! I live in Silicon Valley, Eric! I would love to meet you, but I'm afraid I don't post often enough for you to know me. I'm here every day though!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy our fabulous Bay Area!
Er... Looking at all the comment I have the feeling people think I'm in the SV at present. It won't be before mid June...
ReplyDeleteOh! Eric, we have misunderstood. This is BRAND NEW INFORMATION. Gather round everyone, Eric is NOT in SF, he is in TURKEY (of course i knew that Eric, it's the others). We like to know where our Eric is, you see and we get carried away. Well, not me, clearly, I KNEW you were in Turkey, i even knew you were having difficulty with a Russian keyboard. See, I pay attention, here's an apple, Eric, can i be teacher's pet now?
ReplyDeleteSorry that should be SV not SF (damn, now i bet he won't eat my apple)
ReplyDeleteEric SV is part of the SF Bay Area and although SV people may not like it, the truth is that they are. Anyway we look forward to your visit and to showing our beautiful SF. See if Michael wants to accompany you.
ReplyDeleteNext time when you're out globetrotting, Eric, keep heading west and visit me on Maui, ok?! That is, if you've not left your heart already in San Francisco!
ReplyDeleteSalut Eric! Je ne serai pas a S.F. mais je serai a Paris le 4 juin avec des eleves. J'adore votre blog!
ReplyDeleteWho remembers that old show Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Perhaps we should start a ne show, web broadcast only: Where in the World and Eric and Michael? (Since Michael does a lot of traveling too!)
ReplyDeleteNope sorry Soosh, no idea.
ReplyDeleteWell Eric's in Turkey and i've just seen on the news that there are terrible riots in Istanbul. What's the betting Eric's there in the middle, snapping away for us?
KPGAllant:
ReplyDeletetomate...I will email you about the Saturday meeting...ca va??
Ca va bien, mais change of plans: I completely forgot about Cinqo de Mayo, so we're looking at Crepevine at Church and Market, instead, if we meet this Saturday. If we meet another time, then either location is fine with me.
Eric, I've been paying attention too. I know you're in Turkey now, hope not in the middle of the riots, and next month you'll be in SF. And in the mean time you'll be working out to look your best when you get to the Bay Area.
ReplyDeleteSee, Lynn and I are very good students!
But Monica, Eric doesn't need to work out. Have you already forgotten the drawing Jean-Paul Gaultier made of him?!?
ReplyDeleteoh right Soosha, the 'Village People' drawing! lol
ReplyDeleteI guess we really need to meet him in person to check those muscles!
would love to meet you in when you are in san francisco!
ReplyDeleteNice shot! You remain my motivation on DP network. unfortunately not able to get on to the forum to partcipate in 'Theme'!
ReplyDelete:-(
lynn - careful with the apple bit. Remember what happened when you gals (Eve) offered guys (Adam) an apple. All kinds of things came about. Eric might be soooo smart not to bite.
ReplyDeleteI'm here I'm here...just very busy. There is also the fact that I didn't care too much for this theme day subject despite the nice photos. Sorry...it is rare when I make that type of comment so hope you understand. If not...bon!
ReplyDeleteMichael> maybe you need to be properly introduced to San Francisco ;-P
ReplyDeleteImagine my surprise when I saw the view I see on my way to work everyday from your blog! Thanks for all the wonderful pictures. I only spent a week in Paris 33 years ago, but I am a Parisian in my heart.
ReplyDeletehmm worried about my apple now ;)
