The first snow (for real!)
It's very rare to have snow in Paris, but it' seven more rare to have snow in early December. And though I swear, I did take this photo today near the Gare de l'est at the rue de l'Acqueduc where there is this magnificent metal bridge that runs over the train tracks. I had to wait for the traffic to stop which was pretty painful, because of the cold LOL! The snow should stop tomorrow and the cold weather on Saturday. But I'm sure there will be plenty of other occasions to take snowy photos (I love Paris in the snow)...

Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI love when it snows in Paris :)
ReplyDeleteIt's that perfect 'dusting' of snow. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea it was rare to have snow in Paris. Love the perspective of this shot. So you!
ReplyDeleteSnow in Paris... romantic stuff, at least for me.
ReplyDeleteLove this one Eric, although I'd venture to say it's becoming less and less rare to have snow here. It seems we've had at least one snow every year for the past 5 years, but NEVER this early. It never fails to make Paris a little more beautiful and I'd prefer it now before Christmas o add that extra shine to the (seemingly increasing) decorations.
ReplyDeletebeautiful & thanks for sacrificing some warmth for this shot Eric!
ReplyDeleteAs Michael says, but still . . . I too love Paris in the snow and appreciate what you went through to give us this great image! Now—stay warm.
ReplyDeleteChristmas soul has arrived to Paris very soon. Enjoy the views my friend.

Snow. How delightful for you. Hope you enjoy it. As I look out on our 4 inches that fell yesterday, I'm wondering if you would perhaps like some more? :) Stay warm!
ReplyDelete(Smiles!) Thanks for your dedication to us by standing out in the cold, having to wait for the perfect moment! Great photo!! But it made me chuckle since we've had snow here (MN) for weeks already and I've gotten so used to it - to the point where I don't even put my coat on anymore to go outside to get the mail. Temp at 10am today is 15 degrees F. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this B&W photo.
ReplyDeleteParis covered in snow, hmmm... I hate snow and I hate the cold, but if in Paris I'm sure I could stand it, lol...
You're the best, Eric! An atmospheric shot for sure. I've been reading bad things about the snow and cold there. Hope it warms up a bit soon.
ReplyDeleteEric, No Pain - No Gain.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot.
This is truly a beautiful photo. The curved shape of metal structures gives a misleading perspective. Eric, your photos with snow are always great hits! But I don't forget how cold it must be for you...

Moi aussi! When I come in janvier, perhaps I'll have another chance to capture la neige! :)
ReplyDeleteBet it's pretty cold on that scooter of yours Eric. Bundle up!
