Train spotting?
Yesterday evening I had plans to go to the Raymond Depardon Exhibit at the Grande Bibliothèque (a famous French photographer among other things) for he was going to be there and it would have been interesting to see him. However, due to the low temperature we currently have in Paris, I must confess I had - should I say it - cold feet! So instead of a very cultural/informative photo, here is the lovely grid I passed by every other day when I go to the gym ;-) Sorry, but I am no hero LOL!

I totally understand you Eric! ;)
ReplyDeleteCold feet!! Ha ha!! I love it.
ReplyDeleteI like your photo, too. It makes me think of an urban planner's cartoon done on graph paper. Now I'm going to research M. Depardon because I have never heard of him. Again, Eric, you are a cultural Johnny Appleseed. Merci beaucoup!
I also read today that they found the purported mummy of King Henry IV of France - the same whose statue you have included in these pages! Pretty exciting stuff. I didn't read how he came to be mummified. Another mystery into which I must delve!
ReplyDeletePerhaps it was the cold...;-)
ReplyDeleteI recently came upon your great blog and look forward to visiting some of the lesser known museums and other places of interest you have mentioned.
ReplyDeleteI fly into Paris early Sunday and whilst I'm hoping for snow during my visit I hope it's not going to be a repeat of what you experienced last Wednesday :)
Hey, at least you get to the gym every other day. I get my exercise by walking across the Brooklyn Bridge—but not lately. Way too cold up there! I don't want you to be a hero—I just want you to keep showing us these little corners of Paris. Believe me, it's enough! And I actually love this shot.
ReplyDeleteMoi aussi, Eric. I do not like the cold.
ReplyDeleteI can sooo relate..If my feet are cold, literally, then I am freezing..hope you have those warm slippers that you can heat up in the microwave ... very toasty..lol
ReplyDeleteDepardon movies are very interesting. I love them.
ReplyDeleteLast week end, I bought his last great book of photos relating to the exhibit you missed yesterday Eric. And as usual, I have already offered the book to a friend of mine and didn't keep it for myself!...
You're not a hero, no, no, no, that's true ! Like the famous French songer I love, Daniel Balavoine and his great song 'Je ne suis pas un héros'... !! Loved it when younger and still now.
Nobody's perfect ;-)
Flore
Loving the b/w kick you seem to be on lately! : )
ReplyDeleteI invite Parisians to visit Wisconsin to find out what winter is really like.
ReplyDeletePS, Bring wine, cheese, chocolate and bread from Poilane!
Haha, Mimi! And they should go to northern Wisconsin, just to get it right.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo..I like it, I like it...cold feet and all!! Oh..and "going to the gym every other day" sounds very "California" to me...are you sure this is still "Paris" Daily Photo Monsieur?? LOL!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh but you are our PDP hero, Eric - no mather what ;o)
ReplyDeleteThis grid sure is beautiful.
