Crossing lines...

I had a very interesting business meeting yesterday and during a break I took this photo (of course, I'm not sure the presence of these two garbage trucks add anything to it, but I had no choice ;-)). Technically it's not Paris, but Issy-les-Moulineaux, a very close suburb that used to be pretty poor and is now a booming area, thanks to the installation of many many companies like Microsoft, Cisco, Orange...

  1. If the Renaissance hadn't rediscovered the vanishing point, this picture certainly does emphasize it in the negative space!

  2. Wow that sounded sophisticated Phx. For me, it's a sad reminder of what's awaiting me after I leave equatorial Singapore!

  3. Really, PHX, that was astute.

    Um, I like the photo.

  5. And, PHX, you will explain more to me in il Museo Uffizi, or i Musei Vaticani?

  7. So Michael, are you saying you're returning to a negative space? ...or just vanishing?

  8. Some outside views are not good for inspiration. I guess those trucks were there for a short time.

  9. Oh, I don't know about the view not inspiring...I am a big fan of trucks such as these when I'm decluttering my house. To me, these say "Freedom" from stuff! :) It's all in your perspective, I guess.

  10. It really looks like a space I used to go to for work, one year ago or so. Was in the suburb too.
And I did not have paid attention to the color of these "garbage-trucks", which are green in Paris.
This white color makes a 'suburb-photo-clue'!
Eric, glad you had a very interesting business meeting yesterday. Isn't it ALL the time?! ;-)

  11. I have spent the last few minutes plotting the vanishing point on the page in the vain hope that it might be somewhere amusing, like Eric's nose. How sad is that? Think I need to get a new perspective on life.

Love the pic, but dump the trucks.

  14. LOL -- The 'true Drummond', ça c'est sûr! But is this a true picture from Eric Tenin ? Because ... Eric's pictures are not often that size (half-sized picture today?). Hmm... maybe better like that (ref to trucks!).

  15. @Stuart - just that I'm not looking forward to being back in a cold office building looking outside at the cold! ;-)

  16. Oops, everyone is being witty today. Would I be forgiven for simply saying that I like this shot even with the garbage trucks—and remember Issy as it was and can't imagine all this commerce there!

  17. @Anonymous. Well spotted! Actually it IS a picture of mine, but taken with my little pocket camera, not my usual SLR...
