Dawn in Paris

One of the big advantages of going to the gym early in the morning is that you get to see things you would never see during the day. Hence, this spectacular view that I photographed this morning at rue Doudeauville in the 18th arrondissement. I don't know what the cloud stripes are exactly (real clouds or plane fumes)... I'm really happy the sun returned today, it had been a really long time!

  1. I have read this column daily for years and am often in Paris. Well I am here now and I woke up to the same sky!! They are jet contrails and it was amazing how many were across
    the sky.

I thought it would be just my scene this a.m. and wow, now everyone on this site gets to see what we saw this a.m.

  3. After the Darth Vader commercial yesterday in the US, all I can see are rays from fantastical weapons, including from the car. Too much TV on my part.
What a magical sight you captured, though.

  6. Hard to do, but almost always worth being up at the crack of dawn. This is definitely worth it—for us and I sure hope for you too! Glad to see the sun is back.

  8. Wow this is beautiful. I love the headlights headed your way as well. One day you need to get a photograph of you at the gym. I'm sure that would make an interesting photo!

  10. Oh, this is gorgeous, Eric! And I feel so excited from the first commenter who is visiting there and saw that same sky. It is like getting a double-whammy of joy from this one particular daybreak on Earth.

  16. Really beautiful. Paris early in the morning is beautiful. Even if I don't often see it by myself, I really enjoy looking at dawn, at this period of the year, from the window of my kitchen, between 7.30 am and 8 am while I usually have breakfast.
Now, when I read Eric 'One of the big advantages of going to the gym early in the morning', I really wonder what I'm waiting for doing the same ! ;-)
-- Bettina: you made me laughing out loud (today again)! -- :))
