Feels like summer...

About 23° Celsius (73.4 F), that is +6°C  compared to a normal year, that's what the temperature was like today in Paris! You see scenes that normally take place in summer, like these people on the Ile de la Cité gathering after work! This abnormal weather is nice of course, but is also starting to cause drought problems; not so much in Paris, but in the provinces. I really hope the weather is going to remain like this until the PDP picnic though ;-)

  1. How did you get each couple to line up so perfectly!? ;-) I always love these photos of the quais.

  2. Merci Eric!
    I sincerely appreciate being able to enjoy an interesting new picture of Paris every day. Like many of your regular visitors, I can't be in my favorite city, but I love to see her in photos.

  3. Beautiful picture. This is what is so fascinating about reading about other countries. Here in Perth we have just come out of a cycle of temperatures over 34C for a period of three months, honestly it was like it would never end and water restrictions were tough, but looking out my window right now it is pouring with rain for the first time in what seems like forever, so welcome I can almost hear my lawn sighing with relief.
    Best wishes
    Grace

  4. Hoping that you have great non-rainy weather for the PDP picnic and wishing that I could dash back over there to meet all the others!

  5. Will keep my fingers crossed that you have this kind of weather for the picnic, Eric (even if I won't be there—sigh). Here in NYC, we had a gorgeous day too, with the temp. around 27°C.

  6. The couples look like part of a sculpted frieze.

  9. Great line up. Reminds me of a shooting gallery.

    The symmetry of the line up of couples is slightly spoiled by the couple on the right (too far away, not sitting astride the wall) who appear to be indulging in some kind of meditational activity.
    Let's hope they don't get too relaxed and fall into the river.

  10. The weather has been perfect in Rome, also. Right now, however, it is raining rather hard. That's ok, there are many wine bars near my apartment! I'll be meeting my traveling buddy there in about an hour.

    I had lunch today with Signorina Roma Every Day, another great photo blogger who just returned from her own holiday escape. You should check out her photos, too.

    I haven't been keeping up: what day did you decide on for the PDP picnic?

    Ciao.

  11. Jeff, it sounds like you're going to like exploring your neighborhood, and I hope you can find your way home again safely afterwards! ;) Remember, a trail of bread crumbs (almost) always worked for me!

  12. Yes, I feel like Summer, too, and even more when I take a look at your photo ! 'Feel like' is interesting, isnt'it? What is the difference between feel like and be ? This is not Summer yet in Paris, but Summer's going to come soon for real !! So that's even better, isnt'it?

  13. @Carrie " I always love these photos of the quais." I agree : the Quais are so nice in Paris

    @Jeff Mings "Merci Eric!" you're very welcome ;-) thank you for thanking me.

    @PerthDailyPhoto "This is what is so fascinating about reading about other countries." I agree. I'm thankful for the CityDailyPhoto community to have allowed me to discover so many things that I did not know; even little things I was not really aware of, like the fact that people in the Southern Hemisphere take their summer vacation during our winter!

    @Genie [...and wishing that I could dash back over there to meet all the others!] Truly sorry you cannot make it.

    @Coltrane "Now that's what I call a happy hour!" Yes, really. ;-)

    @Alexa. 27° C! Humid ?

    @Kris "Great photo" Merci !

    @Oakland Daily Photo "The couples look like part of a sculpted frieze." LOL. Yes maybe there are statues after all!

    @Beau Gosse "It is amazing how they line up so precisely" I asked them to do so for the photo ;-)

    @Chritsie "Ooh, that looks fun! I am looking forward to warmer temperatures. " Yes, believe me, it's nice!

    @Drummond "Great line up. Reminds me of a shooting gallery." You're sick!

    @Jeff Hey - or should I say 'ciao'? Come stai? Yes I don't doubt you're having a nice weather in Rome. Did you meet with the Pope yet?! PDP Picnic? Very likely the last weekend of May.

    @Anonymous "'Feel like' is interesting, isnt'it? What is the difference between feel like and be ? " True. It's just that we're told that summer starts on June 21st, period!! It's actually stupid to say "feel like summer" in Paris, as it may get cold when it's supposedly summer!
