The golden arch

Yes, I know, you've seen it a thousand times, but not that close! I took this photo from my scooter, while I was driving (but not very fast ;-)) It was two nights ago, at sunset, and the light was really beautiful (the weather in Paris at the moment is amazingly nice). That's it, not much more to say. Have a nice weekend (and happy easter for those of you who celebrate Easter). We have a holiday on Monday here, but I'll stay in Paris to catch up on things and take a few shots!

  1. Beautiful shot! As for me, there could never be too many photos of the Arch of Triumph or any of the Paris monuments. Love them all, every time! Thanks for bringing them to us so faithfully, Eric. Happy Easter.

  2. Taken from your scooter? Man, you live dangerously! Nice angle and detail when enlarged. That blue sky is so inviting! Those of you celebrating Easter: have a happy one!

  3. GORGEOUS!!! The light and the angle of this photo is absolutely breathtaking. As is the though that you took the picture while driving past on your scooter! Please do be careful, dear Eric, we would hate to hear anything untoward happened in pursuit of a daily photo of Paris.

Happy Easter to all those who celebrate! We had a lovely time with family today and I'm so looking forward to church tomorrow. :)

  4. This very nice image reminds me of the near Avenue Foch, where my aunt lived for many years.
    Happy Easter!

  7. Awesome photo, wonderful light, magnificent monument! Ugly crowd barriers! Come on The Parisian Authorities, you can do better than a couple of cheap crowd control barriers to corral the public into one of the top three or four attractions in the world!

  8. L'Arc de Triomphe at a jaunty angle, dressed in a beautiful sunset glow..what could be better, it's all good.

  9. The warm, saturated color is excellent. Seeing the people-ants at the bottom sure emphasizes how huge it is!

    Happy Easter.

  12. Wonderful colors created by the late afternoon sun... so glad that you left the people in the shot to show just how huge this is! Having climbed those spiral stairs more than once, I remember the view from the top... so worth it!

  14. I'm a little late, but Happy Easter to everyone. I actually saw the Pope today at San Pietro! Quite a crowd.

The weather has been perfect here in Rome.
