Edges
April 1st, no this is not an April fool's day photo, it's a theme day one... And the theme today is "Edges"! I really wasn't prepared to live on the edge today, but these figures apparently are ;-) So here you go, I took this photo at the Bir Hakeim bridge, a beautiful double decker bridge (the upper deck being used by the metro) with four statue groups by Gustave Michel on the edge. See how the rest of the City Daily Photo world was inspired by today's theme...

I know its not an April fool photo,
ReplyDeleteLove it, love it, love it! Watch out for those poissons d'avril, my dear PDPers.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo! Thanks for sharing the other daily photo sites. I didn't realize there were so many (but of course - you are the best!). We are expecting snow here tomorrow - no fooling!
ReplyDeleteMarvellous theme day post.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
After looking at the other daily photos which are just as interesting, it, on the otherhand, seemed to make yours look quite clever to me.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting theme—and I love your take on it! (I'm going to lobby to add some cool sculptures to the Brooklyn Bridge.)
ReplyDeleteEric - you know what they say. If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo.
Nice perspective for the edges theme.
ReplyDeleteI've never noticed how beautiful and interesting this bridge is!!
ReplyDeleteI love your website! I will be in Paris next week and your site has kept me inspired and excited to arrive in your city. Merci!
ReplyDeleteKelly
I noticed that your blog is on a site called goldbaycasino.com
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to discover my full blog is also there. I want my site deleted from goldbaycasino but they do not provided a contact. Can you help?
I don't recall ever having noticed just how lovely this bridge is! Thank you for sharing it with us, Eric.
ReplyDeletei know i've said it before here....but you DO have the eye for composition.....that is one fabulous picture.....i love your personal take on "edges"......
ReplyDeleteWonderful perspective, Eric! And Cara, I love that adage!
ReplyDeleteSublime shot....wonderful take on the theme, Eric!
ReplyDeletebeautiful! happy theme day!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the artist has them looking at? I love Cara's adage, there is something interesting about living on the edge, is there not? :) Happy April, everyone!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful interpretation of the theme! I hope they don't fall off... ;-)
ReplyDeleteOhhh I love this photo! Just look at those muscles! These fellows rival Michelangelo's David. And the fellow up ahead, look at him. Also love the lion heads. This is really really beautiful! Merci! Valorie
ReplyDeleteGreat photo for the theme... I love your point of view.
ReplyDeleteAnd great sculpture too!:)
Great photo as always. I wish this one was landscape instead of portrait so that I could set it as my desktop background.
ReplyDeleteI love this bridge and the metro line that runs over it. When I am in Paris I stay near a stop on that line. I prefer the above ground lines, you get to see the city as you travel.
GORGEOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely leaning over the edge! Good work!
ReplyDeletegreat composition. love the white space complementing the intricate sculpture work:)
ReplyDeleteI need to go see this part of Paris next time. I didn't know this bridge has such great detail.
ReplyDeleteYes, I also love the living on the edge adage.
And yes, we expect snow tomorrow. Pblttpbbbt. (A Bronx cheer in honor of Alexa in New York. However, mon ami de l'est, I don't think messing with the Brooklyn Bridge is a good idea!)
Love the way the figures are incorporated into the bridge. Check for those fish that might be on your back. I'm sure you have. Bon weekend.
ReplyDeleteJ'aime cette image en noir et blanc, parfait pour la journée à thème. Aujourd'hui, nous avons commencé GuatemalaDailyPhoto.com, vous êtes les bienvenus.
