A cute little theater...

I have passed by this place many times thinking each time "this is really a cute little theater!", but never managed to take a proper photo (it's located on a little square with lots of trees that makes it difficult to take photos). Anyway, this time I'm pretty happy with the result. It really looks little a mock up doesn't it? FYI, it's Le Théâtre de l'Atelier located at place Charles Dullin (who was the art director of the theater at the beginning of the 20th century), right by Montmartre.

  1. Charming find! Fabrice Luchini certainly snags my interest. Mais alas, I'm on this side of the pond. Anyway, merci for this walk down turn of the century lane. A nice stroll indeed. It's been a long while since I've stopped by Eric, but I see you haven't missed a beat. Sante!

  3. I love this quaint and charming looking Threatre. I would love to see the inside of it. This photo would make a great notecard.

  4. How lovely. There was a fleeting moment in my life when I thought I'd pursue a theatrical career in Paris, but I never did it. It's probably for the best; my French was never good enough anyway.

  5. the picture makes me dream of walking in with my hair piled up on my head, wearing a long dress with a bustle and a pair of short black booties. Oh yes, with a distinguished man on my arm in a top hat.

  8. If I dressed as PHX describes I'd be a star, or at least I'd attract attention.

  12. It's quite lovely. I love the arched doors and the many windows are not something you usually see on a theater. Now I wonder what it's like inside....(not hinting, just wondering. ;) I'll just use my imagination. BTW, why do you think it is that the inside color decor of many, many theaters is a dark red? Why not blue or green?

  15. Great shot..I can only imagine the splendid evenings that were enjoyed here(and still are)...crowds spilling onto the street after the performance heading for dinner or a cafe. The weather has been lovely in Paris and the light in this photo shows that...ahhh, September in Paris!

  16. @Coltrane "It's been a long while since I've stopped by Eric, but I see you haven't missed a beat. Sante!" Do I hear like a bit of bitterness in there?!

@Petrea "There was a fleeting moment in my life when I thought I'd pursue a theatrical career in Paris" Really? Wow... Actually there are a few American actors in Paris, but I don't think you can have a big career if you don't speak French perfectly.

@PHX "the picture makes me dream of walking in with my hair piled up on my head, wearing a long dress with a bustle and a pair of short black booties." LOL! BTW, have you seen the new series called Pan Am.

@Brattcat "You've definitely taken a 'proper' photo of it now. well done." Merci ;-)

@Alexa "It is absolutely adorable, Eric! I'd like to dress up like PHX and go see Petrea on stage here. (Nice to see Coltrane too!)" LOL

  18. @ Eric "Do I hear like a bit of bitterness in there?!"
I'm not sure what you mean by "bitterness." (Scratching my head) I just stopped by to say "hi!" and to let you know it's been a long time. Oh well, ciao!
