There are many many animals in Paris, and I'm not only talking about pets. There is a big zoo (in Vincennes, which is very close to Paris - and currently closed until 2014), the Ménagerie du jardin des plantes (with about a 1 000 animals!), le jardin d'acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne (West of Paris) and a few other places where you can mostly see birds or fish (like in the superb Trocadero Aquarium). One ting is for sure, there are NO tigers hanging out at Bastille, unless they are stuffed, like the ones I photographed ;-). Eek! The tiger in the center looks very realistic...
ReplyDeleteI have not been to the Ménagerie du jardin des plantes but will put it on my list for the next visit!
Bises,
Genie
looks to be a lovely sunny day in Paris. That one in the middle needs to be more mellow like his sidekicks!
ReplyDelete"...closed until 2104"? That's about 90 years from now -- did you mean 2014?
ReplyDeleteI do love the tiger in the center! Great shot fearless tiger hunter Eric. :)
I've never visited the zoo...is the Ménagerie on a metro line I wonder? Sounds like fun in the Spring.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, The tiger in the center looks a bit scary. Wonder what made him mad? LOL LOL
ReplyDeleteNice that one is protecting the other two.
ReplyDeleteI thought the one in the middle was a real one.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great photo. The colours and stripes og the tigers matches the tree behind.

ReplyDeleteVery very well done... !
Have a nice 1st of February.
the one in the middle needs to simmer down!
ReplyDeleteA nice threesome- or should that be a Menagerie a trois?
ReplyDelete@Gebie "I have not been to the Ménagerie du jardin des plantes but will put it on my list for the next visit!" Yes, you should definitely...
ReplyDelete@Lois "closed until 2104"? That's about 90 years from now -- did you mean 2014? oooops! Yes, I did! Let me fix that right now...
@MPLS Loves Paris I've never visited the zoo...is the Ménagerie on a metro line I wonder? " Yes it is.
@Drummond "A nice threesome- or should that be a Menagerie a trois?" LOOOOOL!
LOL It took me a minute to see the middle tiger -- he is scary! I'm much more at home with the cuddlier ones on either side.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter got a little too close to a tiger at the zoo for its comfort and it jumped on the glass and roared at her, scaring us both like crazy! It was a huge cat!
