Could this view be any more French? I don't think so ;-) I took it near the place du marché Sainte Catherine, in the 4th arrondissement, where the restaurant Le Marché (to whom this very charming, old fashion mini van obviously belongs) is located. Do also have a look at the windows of the apartment building in the background; they are typical of the architecture of this area.

Parfait! You have classic buildings, a chic Parisian lady, a pigeon, flowers in the balcony window boxes, cobblestones, the lamps...you are right. This could not get any more French. I think I had lunch on this square, and it was lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe entire scene is charming. I love that van (though I wonder what it costs to keep it in good repair).
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Les Triplettes de Belleville...so French :)
ReplyDeleteI spotted an Eiffel Tower in this photo! Can you all find it???
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Suzy. I wouldn't have seen it if you hadn't made me look.
ReplyDeleteI saw it too, Suzy, but only after I enlarged the photo. You're right, Eric—it's all wonderfully typique!
ReplyDeleteI found it too, Suzy! Lovely, lovely photo. I so want to be in Paris at the moment. Oh, for some good cheese!
ReplyDeleteLove this photo! And I found it, too. Fun :-)
ReplyDeleteOh yeahhhh...it's a Keeper!! Love it..and the clarity is perfect!! I didn't need to adjust my glasses. Spring is in bloom I see...lovely!
ReplyDeleteAlso love it, and yes Suzy, after you mentioned it, I found it too!
ReplyDeleteFrench? But where is the guy wearing the striped top and the beret? The "French" vans are colonising the rest of Europe.

Love it!
ReplyDeleteVery fine shot, Eric.
ReplyDeleteEric, Magnifique! I'd love to have a print.
ReplyDeleteI like this game--I found it, too! Typical scenes make for some of the best pictures!
ReplyDeleteFound it Suzy ;o)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE - LOVE - LOVE this photo. It's the essence of Paris in one shot.
Did I mention that I LOVE it ?
I love this photo, too. The van is the best! I wonder when it was made and whether it's hit 500,000 kilometers yet. Did anyone see the photo of the car that was driven into a metro entrance yesterday - the driver thought it was the opening to the underground Haussman Car Park? <80 Ohhhh noooo......!! (echoing sound effects) Thankfully no one was hurt.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this photo. It is a perfect example of the beautiful architecture in France and your right, this view couldn't be any more French!
ReplyDeleteWere you following us around during our little trip to Paris Eric? :-)
ReplyDeleteAfter the ox head pic on Monday, now we have a pic of Le Marche - where we had dinner on Monday night! To add to the list of coincidences, we had earlier bumped into...Heather! (at our first choice restaurant which was full).
We had a pleasant meal. They always give you a little postcard of the restaurant as you leave. I think we have 3 or 4 now. They are all the same.
Got back to the UK late last night. Guess what? It was raining!
Help, please I am going crazy as I cannot see an Eiffle tower, please give me a clue!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL it's on the hotel sign, to the right of the photo.
ReplyDeleteOmg !!! Thank you soooo much now I can rest!! You are the best et susie
ReplyDeleteThat is a bit French. A big bit.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites! I love the van! As always, Eric, you have the perfect eye. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Mexique!
ReplyDeleteLove your photo blog and this particular photo,a great little place to sit and eat,and we've done so almost every time we've beeen in Paris. Just came back from a trip and saw this van there, the first time I'd seen it,and my husband also took a great picture! I also found out a few years ago by coincidence when I was looking up location in Paris of one of the scenes in the Bourne Identity that this cafe is in a scene in the film. Here's a link - look at the third photo- that's Le Marche.Cool!http://www.movie-locations.com/movies/b/bourneid_1.html
