Yes, it's a classic. Only the sky was so beautiful today that I could not help but taking a shot. The boat on the Seine is not really a "liner", but a boat on which you can enjoy a nice trip on the river and admire the Seine embankment which, to me, remains the most beautiful thing in Paris. BTW the water level has risen a lot lately; flood pictures to come for sure... I also have to decide on a date for the PDP picnic...

Oh, Eric, you've outdone yourself this time. This is stunning. There's just one thing missing from making this perfect, and it's just around the bend of the river....
ReplyDeleteWe took the batobus, the "bus" that runs down the Seine and you could see where the steps leading down from the Quai were starting to be covered by the water. The river is flowing faster now. I was told some of the boats can't travel now as the levels are too high for them to pass under the bridges.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! The only thing better would be ... hmmm... I guess it just needs me to see it in person.
ReplyDeleteDo they allow kayaking on the Seine? Oh, if they do, I have found my dream vacation.
Beautiful bateau. I suppose it's a touristy thing to do, but we loved our boat ride on the Seine. It's a great way to rest your feet when you've been walking all day, and you still get to enjoy the sights of Paris.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't born in Paris, but this image makes me homesick. I think that's allowed. If it's not, then the rules regarding homesickness need to be changed: not sometime, but now!
ReplyDeleteAs always, wish I was there.
It may be touristy, but a boat trip on the Seine is a must.
ReplyDelete-As is a bottle of champagne for two on the embankment at this very spot opposite the Musee D'Orsay.
-As is a picnic with with some friendly PDP types a little further up the river.....let's hope you choose a sunny day Eric!
Eric, thank you for such a beautiful photo. I shall be looking at it all day! Your photos are the truest link to the City that holds my heart!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, I feel the same. We can make our own rules.
ReplyDeleteStunning!
ReplyDeleteThere are no rules for being "Paris sick" (Paris malade). This malady is readily diagnosed, but there is only one treatment. Without the treatment, the prognosis is bleu.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to figure out if treatment in July is possible...
I love the swirls of the water echoing the sky. I take from the title that there's a silver liner to every cloud! ; )
ReplyDeletewhat an amazing and peaceful picture. I find myself just wishing I was gliding along and wondering what is up ahead beyond the bend. I just got back from 10 glorious days in Paris visiting family. How I miss them and your beautiful City already. Even the rainy days are gorgeous in Paris!
ReplyDeleteMoi aussi, je suis "Paris malade." The river really does look like quicksilver—hope it doesn't rise too high.
ReplyDeleteThis picture is amazing. It gives us a large vision about this magic place.
ReplyDeleteLove it. The color of the Seine is just what I remembered.
