Wish you were here (you too I'm sure!)

The weather is currently lovely in Paris at the moment; just the right temperature (20°C - 68°F), plenty of sun, and another holiday in the pipe (newt Monday!) this Thursday. I took this photo from the Jardin de Belleville, a park that not many tourists visit and from where you can enjoy a very nice view of Paris. I highly recommend it. BTW the dome that you can see in the background is... the dome of the Invalides Pantheon (thank you Marnie! sorry for the mistake) .

  2. The graffiti tour I took continued on to here, too. You get a spectacular view of Paris while all the other tourists are at Sacre Cour.

  3. Beautiful landscape. In Murcia 30ºC, but in Andalusia, >35ºC. Too hot for May.

  4. Here you go again, making my heart bleed for Paris. What an awesome shot. So very dreamy.

Mr. ET Suzy is headed to France in July sans ET Suzy. Please join hands and pout with me.

  6. Newt Monday is the holiday commemorating the intriguing wildlife imported into France by the Huguenots returning from Florida. In modern times, all Floridians emigrating to France are required to bring a little newt in a pocket. The best ones are like chameleons, changing colors to match the patterns of sport coats, handkerchiefs, and pocket lint. Vive les newts!

  9. Jeff- LOOOOOL !! : )) What does our own Floridian emigre have to say? Newt Monday definitely deserves its own green cocktail, a parade, and maybe an anthem. Hope the weather holds out.....

  12. I new your commentators would pick up on the 'newt' typo, but maybe it's a contraction of the phrase 'New Term' to signify the inauguration of France's new Socialist president Monsieur Hollande! It's just a thought! Whatever newt ..... I mean 'next'?

  13. I remember stumbling across this jardin while on a stroll in Belleville. It's lovely, hidden and seems like a place that the locals get to keep to themselves.

  14. Euh, il me semble plutôt qu'il s'agit du Panthéon que l'on voit derrière. Je le reconnais à sa forme (la colonnade), à l'absence de dorure, à la présence de Saint-Etienne-du-Mont à côté... pardon de jouer les profs...

  15. Thank you for your interest Eric, I think that sooner or later Greeks citizens will find our way again and I am 100% confident that we will develop our country again with less mistakes and with less loans than in the past!
For sure all Greeks are feeling the French people much closer than any other European nation not only during these hard moments but decades now! ;)

  17. Mr. pHX is still laughing about his new comrade-in-arms, Mr. ET Suzy. There must be a Mr. Petrea and others out there.

Saw the French Calvary on the quai today on their way to the inauguration or Mr. Hollande.

  18. I meant to add that it is only fair play, ET Suzy, that MR. eT Suzy gets to go to FR without you. He let you come for one day from the states to just attend the PDP picnic.

Shame on me this morning... Not only did I write neWt, but on top of that I said the next holiday was next Monday whereas it's this Thursday!

  23. PHX-CDG, you don't know the whole story. Mr. ET Suzy got a week in England as retribution for my piddly two days in Paris. My pity party is still on!

  24. I remember this park a couple of years ago, it was a beautiful day, the locals were friendly and I took lots of photos of the view over Paris
Then later in the day I accidentally deleted them all. Big Stupid.
So I'm looking at your photo thinking of what might have been...

  25. Drummond, it sounds like you need some newt photos. Maybe you can replace them newt time you visit. And don't forget the big park just to the north: Parc des Newttes Chaumont.
