I took this photo just after the end of the market at avenue de Versailles in the 16th arrondissement. There are 82 food markets in Paris (including 3 organic ones). Here is the list by arrondissement.
OMG... I happen to be there at the same moment yesterday and I did not see you ! I think I could have recognized you from your profile photo and others I found on Internet ! This could have been a delightful surprise. I was with a good colleague of mine and we could have chatted a while! Of course, I saw the same scene after the end of the market. I love these scenes of backstage and maybe even more when it is at the beginning of a market. This is such an atmosphere and you caught it well, in your shot.
I like that this mini-mountain of empty boxes, just a few hours before, housed a cornucopia that found its way onto a hundred tables in a hundred homes and no doubt brought a thousand smiles. : ) I have fond memories of shopping at those markets when I stayed in Paris a few years ago - a boon in the midst of city life. Love it.
I love shots like these -- behind the scenes, after the show, backstage. "Found" art. :-)

Parait la saleté quotidienne de Recife, Brésil. ;)

ReplyDeleteOne of the best parts of living in Paris—all of those great marchés!
ReplyDeleteDefinite mayhem in the aftermath.
