Another beautiful day

As some of you may already know, I'm going to move from Paris at the end of the month and, well, I'm currently in the middle of preparing my move, which is very time consuming! So the only photo I managed to take yesterday is this one - on the Pont du Louvre. Not very interesting, but very in tune with the stunning weather we're having in Paris at the moment. I should maybe stay after all LOL?

  1. Happy for you. Sad, sad news for us.

  2. Wow. The end of the month. New adventure for you. The photo today is appropriate: a bridge to another chapter of life, and it looks very sunny. -Jeff

  3. It strikes me as wrong that I'm not in Paris right now. It's even more wrong for you not to be there! That's because I associate you with Paris, and vice versa. Blessings on you and your new life.

  4. If all you want is a change in the weather to stay, I'll work on that. I agree with Petrea. It will be hard to picture Paris with ET.

  5. I've been a follower for about four years, but rarely comment...where are you off to Eric?

  6. You must tell us where you are going!! Also, where will we be able to get our daily Parisian fix now? I've been following for 7 years and have been dreading the end of this blog ever since you hinted towards it earlier this year.

  7. Whoa. Paris sans ET? Pas possible. But understandable: being an Anglophonic-friendly Frenchman in Paris must feel like you're Captain Kirk marooned on planet Vulcan. Best wishes and deepest gratitude for your emigration and for all you've done for us Earthlings. Live Long and Prosper.

  8. Yes, we'd all love to know if there will be a predecessor! Wishing you the best in your new life. (Nice?) I don't know how you've done it daily for as long as you have, but it has sure been a great way to start my day ... Thank you so much, Eric!

    1. Successor. There is no "predecessor" to Paris Daily Photo: Eric started it all.

Somehow Paris will seem emptier knowing that you are not around somewhere.....

  11. Wow! I had no clue. Hope we will know where your new happiness lies. If no more Parisdailyphoto, what a loss. Yes, suggest your best recommendation for a daily dish of Paris. Best of luck. You will be truly missed!

  12. Don't know why my comment came up as a reply to Anonymous, but you get the idea anyway ;-)

  13. I, too, will miss your lovely daily PDPs. I have been a daily visitor for several years and seldom have I commented. But your photos have been a part of my life and my love for Paris for so long - I will miss you! I hope you will find some way to keep a web presence and let us know!

  15. There are many Paris photo blogs, though none to equal Eric's. Each is different in its own way.

You can start with Virginia, who travels to Paris often and though she lives in Birmingham, Alabama, she posts a Paris photo every day.

  16. I am resigned to the loss of PDP, but possibly because I've had a year to get used to the idea. But what a wonderful oeuvre; as pointed out above, this blog was the first to highlight a city so consistently and beautifully. AND you used the Internet to do what it can do so well--unite people around the world in intention and connection by creating the city daily photo network. What a coup. For myself, I will miss being able to say I know a couple of folks who actually live in Paris. But I commend the ability to move to the next big adventure.

  17. Oh how I wish you would stay, Eric! But you'll be happy when it's raining in Paris—which is inevitable—and sunny on your island. No one can take Eric's place, but Petrea is right. After you visit Virginia's wonderful blog, check out Genie's Paris and Beyond. (And I post on the 1st of each month to Paris Encore.) And we were all inspired by Eric, of course!
    (Tried to provide the links but Blogger won't let me. :~{

  18. Awwwwwwwww!! You're all so sweet! Actually If you'd told me that I would leave Paris one day I would have laughed (out loud of course!), but now is the time to move on to a more quiet and sunny place to enjoy more of what life has to offer! I'm moving to Malta, starting November 29, but I'll try to keep posting photos on PDP until the end of the year - and possibly until the 10 year anniversary.
Will keep you all posted, but for now I have to go back to packing boxes!

  19. Will there be a Malta DP????

  20. Paris will never be the same! I will always equate you with Paris! I've never even been there, well twice in the airport and I did fly over! Selfishly, I'm quite sad. You've given me such a gift these past years, I feel I should have something to give you in return. I can only give you my sincere gratitude for sharing so much of this beautiful city that I love and so much of your life! I wish you so many happy wishes for your future. I will miss you and your lovely posts more than I can ever say. xx Valorie

  21. Your blog has been apart of my daily French classes for years. The students in Webster, NY (near Rochester) will miss your connections to French culture. Merci beaucoup et bonne chance!

  22. Eric I wish you all the best in your new adventures. I have been following you for years and will miss the morning emails. Maybe a MDP (Malta Daily Photo) is in the works? Merci beaucoup et bonne chance!

First you let us know that you'll stop blogging (which, as much as we hate to learn this we also are full of understanding AND full of TREMENDOUS GRATITUDE) and now you let us know that you're leaving Paris.... mais ça va encore?!?!?!?! :)
I have an instantly heavy heart reading that because day after day I say to myself HOW PRECIOUS your daily photos are, how well documented each shot is - I haven't found yet another Paris blogger with your vast and interesting overall knowledge you share - and I so hate to know that all these goodies will end eventually!!
Thank You, already now, for your being around.....
    Kiki
PS: The VERY ancient laptop I would have used crashed three times yesterday, my comment therefore had to await today and guess what - after three more crashes, I think I might get lucky.... miss you already dreadfully.
I read also in the meantime that you'll live on Malta. I've never been but tons of mostly UK friends spend every free moment there - so that sounds delightful enough!

  25. It will be no substitute, but another blog of images by someone who appreciates Paris is Paris Illustré at wordpress. http://parisillustre.wordpress.com/

Thanks, Eric, for the unique and informative glimpses of Paris. --Matt P.
