I recently passed by the Cartier building on the Champs Elysées and it made me think of last year's post. Only this year, the beautiful building is hidden behind a huge screen. I don't know when the work is meant to stop, but I like it that they picked a very nice photo to print on the screen.

  1. It certainly makes for a more pleasant image than just seeing scaffolding.

  2. When you Google Map "cartier champs elysee" the location pops up with a message saying "This place has closed or relocated." Hilarious. I guess you'll have to shop for tchotchke and my gifts at another location, mon ami. You can put it in one of those boxes you're packing, but don't forget to put it in the post before it gets mixed up with all your stuff. -Jeff

  3. Oh yes ! Last year : Cartier without Bresson !! Today, it seems there is no more... Cartier... apart from the scaffholding, which still remains a very nice display ! It could be titled : Cartier without Cartier... Or I don't know... Still Cartier ? But I am not sure this would be correctly understandable. Difficult to say it in a few words ! But you'll do it, I am pretty sure.
William is right : the photo sublimates the just scaffholding shot.

  4. Love that "T Perspective"! And how the people on the street fit within the giant photo on the building.

  6. It is strange you posted this without a title, and I miss it...!! I know how stupid it sounds and how boring it is to have you to think of a title now !! So please do not, instead of which, I would feel confused... :)

  7. The pedestrians add nothing but distraction. A good photographer would have waited for a clear shot or something spectacular like a sexy long -legged short skirted woman in front of the left side of the panel...and no one else. The reflection of the tree and the confusion of exposure (I presume you are on auto-exp) ruins the photo and the sense of what you are trying to convey. I'd have tried a few filters and waited for a clear time...
