Fontaine du Théâtre Français

There is a beautiful fountain at Place André Malraux (right at the entrance of rue de Richelieu, where the street merges with avenue de l'Opéra) called la Fontaine du Théâtre Français. It's beautiful during the day, but it's even more beautiful at night, thanks to the very "French" lighting they installed! That is also where they installed Christmas trees made of recycled bottles a few years ago!

  9. The Minneapolis Institute of Arts has this Pissarro painting:

I wrote a study of this painting in college and it was one of the things on my list the first time I visited Paris. I was so proud to actually see it. I love this location.

  18. The building in the background to the right with the red windows is the Comedie Francaise, hence the name of the square. You can also view and hear this fountain from the balcony just off the bar inside the Comedie Francaise, in the room where the chair in which Moliere died is on view. I like how the red in the windows of the Comedie Francaise and the deep blue of the sky are also seen in the lighting on the fountain!
