Yesterday (Friday) was the eve of a long weekend for us: the 1st of May, which is for Europeans - Labor day. This year it's a Tuesday, so you only need to take Monday off and you can enjoy a 4 day weekend ;-) I took this photo at Porte de Saint Clould, near the motorway that leads to Normandy, a region in the north west of France where a lot of Parisians have a country house. As you can see, it was pretty busy. BTW, I never told you about "Bison futé", a public service that gives information and forecasts about traffic in France. It's even in English ;-)

Apparently, you were standing on the seat of your scooter, which was perched on top of a truck. A new Tenin perspective. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteWanting to leave Paris. Willingly. I know it's meant to be a good thing, but I can't fathom ever having the desire.
ReplyDeletenot in the UK! We always have the first Monday in May as a bank Holiday so this year its a week in Monday - that way if May 1 is a Saturday ir Sunday we still get a day off work!
ReplyDeleteAh, faire le pont! I thought the Parisians are leaving Paris because of the unceasing deluge! Have a great long weekend!
ReplyDeleteAnd over here we get . . . no days off. I am leaving town for the weekend, but I'm taking a train. :~}
ReplyDeleteInteresting link, Eric, but I don't get the name. Hope you enjoy your looong weekend, wherever you'll be.
Last weekend relaxing on a bench in a sunny Sologne garden...
ReplyDeleteToday, a "leaving Paris" post...
... Eric, I can see the idea of going more often out of the périphérique growing in your mind ... ;-))

ReplyDeleteAre you on Flyertalk by any chance?
I saw someone mentioning the "Bison futé" there a couple of days ago.:-)
Is it still raining or have you been given a reprieve?? :) Well you know the old saying.."Till April’s dead, change not a thread." I guess "April in Paris" will have to wait until May this year? Great photo of the "Exodus!!"
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Suzy!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a mass exodus! (Why would anyone LEAVE Paris if they didn't have to?) Great shot though... Enjoy your weekend!
