The most expensive book in the world!

You have a lot of money you don't know what to do with? Let me help you... Tashen, a publisher that is usually known for offering beautiful books at a very reasonable price, is currently showing in its Paris store, this 464 page "sumo" book (26.7 x 37.4 cm or 10.5 x 14.7 in.) in which you can find most of the photographs by Helmut Newton. Stunning! Why is it on display in the Paris Tashen store at the moment? Because there is a huge Helmut Newton exhibit at Le Grand Palais at the moment... Last but not least, you can buy it for as little as 10,000 euros/dollars!

This is a fantastic piece of art just in itself, but I'm sure I could make you proud of your 10,000 euros/dollars if you want to share it.

  9. If I had that kind of money, or if you have that kind of money, there are places in the world that don't have clean water and many people die for the lack of that simple necessity. Sounds like a much better spending plan to me!

  10. I think Helmut was a genius, but 10,000 euros -- No, thanks!(Don't want to say what I did to deserve it, but I got yelled at by Newton once.)

  16. I have admired Newton's work for years. I have seen the book and it is fabulous.
When my wife and I were in Paris in 2002 we stayed in the same building on rue Aubriot in the 4th arr. that the theme shot was taken and his studio was in when he shot in Paris.
Thank god he shot in B&W.
