Perfect weather (at last!), lovely night... ideal moment to go out and try my new camera at night! And where else to go than to the peaceful pont des Arts. Everything had been said about this bridge - especially here! - and though I did not not know that, initially (around 1850), you had to pay 2 sous - approximately 10 euro cents - to cross this bridge (well not this one exactly as it was rebuilt between 1981 and 1984). Last evening there were lots of tourists passing by and making out and there was also this guitar player - and signer - who was perfectly suited to the scenery.

It's like the guitar player has just had an idea and the light has just come on!
ReplyDeleteI think this picture sums up what PDP is all about for me. A contemporary look at Paris ,spectacular background and what makes it all work for Parisians.
ReplyDeletePlus, this picture may have the lock in the background that Mr. pHX and I left there. Sigh......

Looks like a perfect summer evening in Paris. Ahhhhhh....
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you figured out your camera. Very nice photo. And...wait! Is Samaritaine lit up? What's the news with that?
ReplyDeleteNice to see, and even better as he doesn't look to be a busker.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the guy in the background had one sandwich too many at Subway.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the guitar player is signing his singnature song?
Sorry Ken(from yesterday)-only joking!
-and also, may I just take this opportunity to state in public that Eric's English is most excellent.
Phew!
Perfect night and perfect picture!
ReplyDeleteSince last Saturday, where I spend a few hours wandering around my former "quartier" of Paris and trying to take as many pictures as possible (until my battery went dead!!!), I am even more impressed, if possible, by your work, Eric!!!
Your pictures look so natural, alive, apparently easy to take, but just apparently. How long do you have to wait to get the right shot?
Avoiding cars, cycles, scooters , scaffoldings (I was amazed to see how many building are "en chantier"), construction works, pedestrians......every thing that ruins a photo!!!
You really have THE EYE! Thank you for sharing with us.
The guitar player looks perfectly suited to the background that he is playing in. Nice~
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely. A perfect night to walk down the street with music playing on the breeze while a half smile relaxes on your face...
