Looks like rain

I guess we could call it a rotten summer as, so far since summer started there has not been a week without rain... Today I went to "Computer street" (that is what we call the rue Montgallet for it's full of Chinese computer stores where you can get good deals ;-)) and while I was waiting for my computer to be built, I wandered along the Coulée verte (a former train track turned into a green track (even though surrounded by some modern buildings as you can see) and here is the result. A bit scary, but I like it. Have a nice Saturday everyone.

  1. A bit claustrophobic n'est pas but still it's Paris. Great shot though.

  2. I love the idea of the Coulée verte and the light you've captured is beautiful {even though it does feel like those shrinking rooms they used to trap the good guys in some of those old TV shows and movies!} Bon weekend, dear Eric.

  3. I'm feeling very small and wanting to shrink into something even smaller. (Is that ceiling coming towards me???)

Hope some sunshine is in your sky this weekend!

  4. I'll be in Paris one month from yesterday so hoping the weather turns for the better! Watched the Bastille Day firework video - can't wait to get there! Staying on the Ile Saint Louis - this time, can't wait!

  5. I read about new rain records in Sweden most every day. I wonder if we have a computer street in Stockholm, don't think we do, but it is a smart idea.

  6. We probably "borrowed" the idea for NYC's High Line from the Coulée Verte—for which I'm very glad! Now if we only had a Computer Street . . . So you are getting a bespoke computer, Eric?

  7. This looks like a shot from a new camera Eric or am I wrong?

@Alexa...have you seen the illustrated book called Paris vs New York? A very clever idea where one page has a drawing of a Paris icon i.e., "Coulée Verte" and the facing page has a drawing of the NYC comparative i.e., "High Line". If you haven't seen it, I'm sure you will love it!

  8. Don't feel bad about the rainy summer. It has been sooo hot here, we can hardly go outdoors without feeling like a rotisserie poulet. I finally, after more than a week, could sit outside at a restaurant for dinner. And a little rain last night feels nice. It will get jungle-like again today, though.

  9. Don't worry about the weather if you come to Paris anytime soon. Here it can change overnight and remain nice - or bad - for several days.

@Alexa "So you are getting a bespoke computer, Eric?". Well you know nothing goes bad a fast as a computer those days. You need to replace them every three or four years, especially if you work on photos and video!

@Jeff "we can hardly go outdoors without feeling like a rotisserie poulet." LOOOOOL. Yes I know I saw that there is a drought in the US at the moment and that the price of cereal is skyrocketing... Like we need this!
