Like last year I went to the grape harvesting party of Mélac, a restaurant located in the 11th arrondissement. For the occasion they installed tables in the street, made food for 500 people (mostly cheese, ham, sausage and "Aligot" - mashed potatoes with cheese) and have wine ready for everyone! Around 1 pm they called all the kids and had them squash the grape they just harvested on the restaurant facade into giant buckets! (see the video on my Facebook page). Fun moment, to share with friends and a few PDP vistors that happened to be there too! Time for me to take an Alka Seltzer I guess ;-)
I fly all the way to Paris for that menu....and the wine of course! :)

Love how you have made a montage of the day. It would be difficult to choose just one picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic day. So quintessentially Parisien.
Hope you have recovered from the wine and the sunshine,
Love denisefrombolton
Sounds like a fun event.
ReplyDeleteOh, this looks like so much fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day! Glad you made this great collage too!
ReplyDeleteBonjour Eric!
ReplyDeleteThe concept, the fun and the organization of this event really impressed me! :)
Unfortunately I cannot see the video... and I cannot find your page!
It was a great day!! Fabulous collage of pics too! Bring on next year!! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, thanks to an Australian named Roniece who introduced us to an even in Paris. What a small world!
ReplyDeleteLike Virginia, I'd go for the aligot! Your montage is géniale, Eric—and I hope you had as much fun as all of these folks. Did you take these shots with your iPhone maybe?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful time! :)
ReplyDeleteOooh...watch out everyone! When Eric reads Alexa's comment, there's likely to be a ruckus going on :-) I think he's one of those "anti-i-anything" guys and then to suggest he didn't use one of his fancy cameras...you might just send him over the edge Alexa :-)
ReplyDelete@Philos. It's on Facebook. IO've looked and could not find you either?! Weird, I thought we were FB friends.
ReplyDelete@Alexa " Did you take these shots with your iPhone maybe? " Nope like @Michael said, I used my fancy camera LOL! I think camera phones usually make bad photos (that includes all phones Michael, iPhones, like Android phones!! - haven't tried the latest Windows Phone ones.
Eric, happy harvest time! BTW are these screw top wne bottles?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lot of fun - I wish I could have been there! But, how come only the kids get to squash the grapes?? ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove your photo montage of this party. It sounds like a fun event!
ReplyDeleteIt is never too late to become friends Eric! You will find me as /philos ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the montage of pics from such a fabulous day!! I was happy to finally meet you and am looking forward to being at the Vendange again next year!
ReplyDeleteEric, I cannot find the video on you FB page. I very much would like to see it. There is a grape stomp at a local winery here in Austin, TX this weekend; I love comparing similar events taking place in Paris and in Austin.
ReplyDeleteI start every day with PDP!
