The (only!) bad side of Paris is that you can never tell what the weather is going to be like, even if it's summer for instance. Look at what happened... Two days ago I took this super sunny shot and yesterday, it was raining cats and dogs! I caught people on a Segway tour in the middle of the jardins des Tuileries and, well, it makes... well... a pretty wet photo ;-) FYI, there are several Segway tours in Paris (here, here or here) but I've never tried any, so I cannot tell you if it's worth it...

Inching your (Seg)way through Paris...

I've ridden Segways in Seattle and Santa Barbara and they are so much fun! So I imagine a Segway tour in Paris would be equally so.
ReplyDeleteI have never done this, but in Bordeaux I saw the police using them.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome to take a look at my blog.
I have posted images non stop since the summer 2009.
I see them around and I am tempted to give it a shot.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great shot - the wet ground really makes the photo! I had to enlarge the photo, because I thought the person in the foreground was dressed up like an angel, only to discover he/she is wearing a plastic raincoat. It must be late in the day....
ReplyDeleteOh the segways have adopted Paris as well !!!
ReplyDeleteWonder how they behave on the brick pavements though. On my first visit I noticed that the bicucles' tires were always kept soft for facing those bump-ridden rides.
Et Segway est une invention québécoise ! (ben quoi, y faut ben s'flatter quand on en a la chance, non?) :D
Black & white is perfect for this shot. It looks quite wet (send some of that over here, please, we need rain)
ReplyDeleteIt's worth it-very fun.
ReplyDeleteI was in Paris this time last year and we experienced a heat wave...remember?
ReplyDeleteI'll be there in a week...bringing my umbrella.

ReplyDelete@Tomate "I see them around and I am tempted to give it a shot." Actually the only time I tried one was at the tech museum in San Jose!)
@Mo,,ica "I thought the person in the foreground was dressed up like an angel," LOL.
@Arr D "Et Segway est une invention québécoise ! (ben quoi, y faut ben s'flatter quand on en a la chance, non?) :D" It is?! I did not know. Bravo !
@Alan "I was in Paris this time last year and we experienced a heat wave...remember?" Er actually I don't but it's possible (I have the memory span of a goldfish!!)
You will Brattcat?! Cool! Let's have a coffee!
Fabulous photos, as usual!
ReplyDeleteI think it's interesting that Europe has had one of the wettest summers ever... but here in the Pacific Northwest we just tied a record for the driest summer since 1951.
I think one side of the globe gets rain and the other side stays dry. That's my theory...
:0)
I love your theory John! (And it might be true actually!)
ReplyDeleteIn a rather bizarre accdent in 2010, the owner of the company (not the inventor) which makes the Segway died when he went over the edge of a cliff - on a Segway.
