For the first time in my life I went to Bofinger's, one of the oldest (1864) and most famous brasseries in Paris. A brasserie (brewery in English) was originally a place where beer was brewed and where you could also drink it. Soon, food was also offered. In Paris, most of the brasseries have been created and run by Alsacians, that is people originating from the East of France, precisely where beer was and still is a traditional beverage. Bofinger makes no exception as, precisely, its founder, Frédéric Bofinger was from Colmar. The place is really worth the look (and the food); check this little Animoto that I made especially for you!

The most beautiful brasserie in Paris?

I went to the little Bofingers across the street. It was a good meal and now I can say I did something in Paris before Eric!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering! I LOVE that bread so much!!
ReplyDeleteOOPS! Didn't mean to be anonymous.
ReplyDeleteThe stained glass ceiling and tower of choucroute are most famous! YUM! (^_^)
ReplyDeleteI send all my Paris-bound friends here. So pretty and so yummy. For me, it's not a trip to Paris without choucroute garni at Bofinger's.
ReplyDeleteOne of these days maybe I'll get to try the choucroute garni here . . . sigh. Meanwhile, I love your Animoto (and was that the men's room with the "fishy" white porcelain, um . . . facilities? :~}
ReplyDeleteArt Nouveau!
ReplyDeleteArt Nouveau!
Art Nouveau!
Petit Bofinger is good but nothing like Bofingers!
ReplyDeleteJust so a future traveler won't go thru what I went thru, it is NOT pronounced BO FINGER.
Love your Animoto -- Bofinger's really is as beautiful as you said it was. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely looking bread! (Now I'm going to have to make bread tomorrow, you know that, don't you?)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time!
Whaddaya mean it ain't Bo Finger? I want me a finger o' that bread, an I'm on' have me sum beer, too.
ReplyDeleteLol, Petrea! Your acting talent even comes thru in your writing!!!
ReplyDeleteFenix, you funny.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many brasseries hold by aveyronnais today. Also a old tradition but still very alive. They brought meat from Aubrac and the prosperous Costes Brothers :-)
ReplyDeleteBig mistake to start the animation with a Coca Cola bottle... :(
ReplyDeleteAnother one to add to my list...I better get on a diet before my trip if I ever eat everything I'm planning on!!!
ReplyDeleteI really liked yourl video and this is certainly a beautiful place. I wish I had one of those rolls!
ReplyDeleteI've eaten there twice. It was so good I went back!
ReplyDeleteI love Bofinger! It is so beautiful inside. I don't even like sauerkraut, but their choucroute creations are really tasty. Just a tip for anyone who goes - when you make a reservation, request to be seated on the main floor. Having sat at both places, the second floor is kind of disappointing ambiance-wise.
ReplyDeleteElegant, yet comfy! How have I missed going? Eric, loved your animo to...were those fish heads in the actual "head"? If so, wonder what's in the ladies room?
ReplyDeleteBofinger was one of the very first restaurants I ever ate at in Paris when I was quite young[Notre Dame was still black with soot]and it was a memorable experience. I was back a few years ago and I still loved it but didn't remember all the little details that I enjoyed that time. Your animoto is wonderful...enjoyed it very much!!
ReplyDelete@PHX "Bo Finger" That is so funny!
ReplyDelete@Robin " If so, wonder what's in the ladies room?" Well I saw that too, but there is nothing different from "normal" toilets.
I forgot...
ReplyDelete@renatoa "Big mistake to start the animation with a Coca Cola bottle... :(" LOL, yes, not very French I agree... But hey, Coke is everywhere!
Those rolls look delicious!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant piece of editing, I'm in awe..wouldn't even know where to begin.. mega technophobe moi!!
ReplyDeleteif you like these settings, you have to try Vagenende (boulevard saint germain), Le grand colbert (rue Vivienne), mais surtout les grandee brasseries de montparnasse: Le Dôme et La Coupole. Et la Closerie des Lilas.
ReplyDeleteMouth watering post, your enimoto is wonderful and enimoto is really a worthy and we had a really enjoying experience over here.
