No, you're not currently looking at Rio de Janeiro daily photo! but, yes this is the "Cristo Redentor" (Christ the Redeemer), or rather a replica that was offered to Notre de Dame de Paris and was being towed somewhere. I happened to be at Gare du nord when I saw it. I dug out my camera real quick and started shooting. Sometimes, you're just lucky, even it if makes a more intriguing photo than a good one...

The Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty and now Christ the Redeemer, you go to Paris and you are simply in the middle of the world :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear what Rio (GIG)Monica has to say about this!
ReplyDeleteI saw the statue of Christ in Rio, surrounded by clouds and it made it look like he was flying in the sky. You couldn't see the mountain to which he was affixed !!!
Now top that, Paris!
Wow wonderful
ReplyDeleteI've seen the one that is similar in Bolivia, which is large, but not as large as Brazil's. I was teaching in Cochabamba, Bolivia and we would use the Cristo as a way to tell where we were in the city. :) Lovely to see a little bit of Brazil coming to Paris.
ReplyDeleteLove the 2 photos you took of it that show it moving with the car! Kinda funny :D.
ReplyDeleteWith that red traffic light, he rather resembles a crossing guard...
ReplyDeleteHow fortuitous!
ReplyDeleteThe things one sees in Paris...
I hope he blesses you all as he blesses us here in Rio!
ReplyDeleteI think it`s time for you to come to Rio and meet all your carioca`s fans =)
