Unique objects with a soul...

I had lunch in the Abbesses area yesterday (Tuesday) and before I head back to work, I walked around the area and came across one of these bollards that Le Cyclop (who I already featured on PDP in September 2010) turns  into works of art. It turned out that the bollards were in front of Akiza art gallery, which precisely sells them together with other unique and very creative objects like this red bag (look at the handle, it's a phone handset!) or this old telephone lamp. A cool place to visit, (located at 3 rue Tholozé) if you're in the neighborhood.

  1. These are fabulous. Old telephone sculptures and objets d'art fascinate me. There is a cafe on rue de Bretagne (Cafe Charlot?) that has an old dial telephone on the wall with a sign above it saying "free wifi". I love it.

I also want to add my concern and best wishes to all our friends on the East Coast of the U.S. Yikes. Stay warm and dry if you can.

  2. This reminds me of a Picasso sculpture of a Baboon , whose face is made from a child's car ( and body made from a bowl).

Alexa....how ARE you? ( I am still in CDG till JFk opens up). Not so glamorous when you have things to do in the US.

  3. I'm starting to worry now... No news from Alexa at all! (I even sent her an email...)

  5. I love to see stuff like this recycled in such clever ways, don't you? BTW, I just answered your e-mail, Eric. CDG, I heard they finally opened JFK to limited flights. Things are crazy here—I'm okay, but my mom's house was badly flooded and isn't salvageable. Still no subways or power below 39th Street. Quelle pagaille!
