Cold!

I know it's winter, I know it's January, I know there is nothing extraordinary about the kind of cold we have at the moment and I also know than compared to other places like northern Europe or USA, I have no reason to complain! But I'am glad I had the chance to sit by the Hotel de Montalembert fireplace today... Very nice place I must say (the Hotel de Montalembert was Steve Jobs' favorite hotel when in Paris) and very cozy. Stay warm everyone (well except if you live in Australia of course...).

  1. love the pop of the color red on the book covers. It looks like a perfect place to relax, stay warm, have a drink (or two) and people watch!

  3. I haven't checked in for several days. The situation in Mali is horrendous, and I am hoping for everyone's safe return. The news now is that a number of hostages have been killed. Terrible.

A warm fire is a good idea in times like this. Health and safety to all.

  4. First word to my mind when looking at your photo was "cozy". But then you wrote that you spent time by that fireplace -- how romantic. I would have loved to have spent that time with you Eric. xxoo Stay warm.

  8. Being at the right temperature, next to this fireplace, enjoying time relaxing in a nice couch and yes each second spent, counts more than any second. I had no idea things could be that beautiful. Maybe I had but the website does knows how to sublime it. Thank you very much for sharing this, Eric.

  9. I am looking forward to sitting by the fireplace this weekend. It's been very cold and snowy all week. The kids love it as many schools have closed and they can play in the snow. Schools never closed when I was a kid :-(

  11. Minus 21 Celsius in Montréal ( feels like -28C with the wind) . Not pleasant but bearable :-)

I guess it is "watch out where you are stepping" in Paris today since they are forecasting du verglas in île de France. So be careful and take care.

  12. We just can't take you anywhere, Eric—even at this lovely hotel, here you are on the floor again. :~} Seriously, stay warm!

  13. LOL, Alexa! The view from there is lovely, isn't it.

I'm glad you found a cosy spot, Eric. Here in Australia, our southern states in particular would very gladly take a dozen or more of those cold degrees off your hands. Bon weekend...

  14. Thanks Eric, we are a little too cozy here in Australia, a fire and snow outside sounds pretty good to me!(but maybe not too much snow, can I get just the right amount haha!)
