In the garden of a house, just outside Paris. Precious moment.

  1. Short caption, Eric? Are you overwhelmed that much at work that you can't stand writing any more words around midnight ? ;D
Please forgive me this bad joke...

With the somptuous weather we're having now, that was for sure a super outside dinner outside Paris.

  5. Yes, the candlestick makes the picture. As well as it makes a soft atmosphere. Sigh... a soft time while looking at this picture. I feel like I can hear them too, Tea lady, that's so true!...

  6. If Renoir was alive, he'd paint this scene and call it "Amis Dans le Jardin."

  10. You captured a wonderful mood. Everyone was so engrossed with enjoying each other's company they never noticed you with your camera. (Or are they accustomed to it?!) Very nice.

  14. Probably your shortest note since the birth of PDA ;-)
But the phot says it all: good friends, good food, good wine(s), good atmosphere... Great evening, and, as you say, certainly a precious moment...

  15. Life is really made up of these precious moments. So glad you had a wonderful night. (We had a candlelight dinner the other night too, but we had a souffle and apple muffins. My kids just love candlelight dinners! lol)

  17. How very kind of you to share this moment and image with us Eric!

It looks an amazing gathering..... I find incredible this tradition that the french have to unite around a table with some wine and lots of friends.

Here we don't do that much, usually people get together in restaurants. I think that doing it at somebody's house is much more special.

  18. And, if people don't usually meet around tables chez eux, let alone meeting for a picnic!

Soooo that's why I find it even more special and amazing to have a picnic with friends like you guys are going to do tomorrow.

Please keep the calendar Eric and don't let the tradition of the picnic fade. Maybe next year I'll finaly be able to go to Paris at the same time the picnic is held.....
I'll only have real vacations again next year so I have to be patient.

  21. Looks like you had a lovely evening.
We also had a great night last night in an Irish pub in the Bastille area, listening to a fantastic rock band. We finally staggered out about 1.30am
Hoping to attend a performance of the Mozart Requiem tonight. Talk about a contrast!
Just off to buy the champagne for the picnic tomorrow!
It's very warm and the weather should be great.
