Autumn leaves

Yes, I know, every year I post a photo that looks more or less like this one, around the same time of the year...But autum leaves make good photos and when they are taken in Paris, it makes a big difference ;-) I've taken this photo, in a little garden near the rue de la Madone, in the 18th arrondissement where I went shopping for Chinese food (there is a litlle Chinese quarter over there). That's all, have a nice fall/autumn Sunday everyone, except for those who live in the South hemisphere who are gently entering Spring...

  4. And there's that perspective that I like so much. Somehow I never put "Paris" and "Chinese takeout" together . . . but why not?

  5. I love autumn leaves and their colors... when they're still on the trees !
After that, cleaning the garden is a pain ;-((

  6. @Petrea "Is autumn a nice time to visit Paris?" Good question! I get it quite a lot (with all seasons actually ;-)

I never know what to answer as I would say there are no "good" season to visit Paris. It's a personal choice; whether you don't mind wearing a sweater and enjoy sheltering in a nice café for a cup of tea and macarons when it's cold or if you prefer being in a T-shirt but surrounded by dozens of other tourists in the summer.

I am unable to answer. I like all seasons in Paris even if I complain when I have to take my scooter in the rain or when the temperatures go below 0...

  7. What month or months are there less tourists, and no snow? That is the month I would want to visit! :) It is true--green leaves on the ground are not the usual "autumn leaves" in this area of the world, they are almost always orange, yellow, or red. We have a huge pile of them in the yard right now, but thankfully not covered with snow like our friends 30 miles away!

  8. Thank you, Eric, you've answered my question! I like warmth but I prefer cool air to crowds, so I think autumn is the time for me.

  11. Cool photo -- I really like the abstraction in the background, very pretty colours.

I like Paris in the autumn -- all seasons actually. I love Paris any time -- any time at all. :-)

  12. Down, but still full of (green) life. They're just resting. Just pining...for the fjords. Like a Norwegian Blue. (Only Monty Python freaks will have any idea...)

  13. I love Paris in the autumn and my best Paris memories are of this time of year, I remember listening to "Autumn Leaves" while riding the batobus down the Seine...and the Della Reese song "Something Cool" when she says..."the time I went to Paris...and stayed ALL Fall..."....yes, Autumn...
