Meeting at Place Vendôme
For my first real trip outside after my flu, I was lucky! I had a meeting at Place Vendôme in the 1st arrondissement. A really nice location, especially since the Christmas lights (the little yellow spots you can see in the background) are still on. I took several photos, but I chose to post this one which includes the nice window railing of this 18 century building I was in... Like I said, I was lucky!

What a lovely view you've shared with us on your first day back in the outside world! It is a gorgeous site. I'm glad you were feeling well enough to make it to the meeting!
ReplyDeleteNiiiiiice. Oh, dear,I so want to be there! The Place is so empty! It really makes the reflections come alive because they aren't broken up.
ReplyDeleteI hope the flu hasn't hopped the Atlantic - I'm about to get on a plane and they are such germ bins. PHX - you must have the immune system of all time! Wish me luck!
Quite right. So Paris.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
You still look a little weak judging by the tilt of your camera. Don't over do it -- take it easy. You don't want to have a relaps. Prescription by Dr. Mom. ;-)
ReplyDeletePS: The lights do look nice -- a fond reminder of the holidays past.
Glad you are back on your feet again, none the worse for wear.
ReplyDeleteThe details in the ironwork of that railing are wonderful. You are so lucky to have your eyes and heart and mind filled by such details at every turn.
I got a flu shot Carrie! When I was teaching I caught every childhood disease from those kids (as any teachers out there will attest to). After that, I caught nothing. Same with being a flight attendant.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
This pix looks like a misty watercolored memory to me!! With apologies to Barbra S.
Photographier une grille de balcon de travers en cette période de l'année avec l'éclairage fantastique de la place Vendôme en ce moment, c'est un sérieux manque d'à propos!
ReplyDeleteCool I used to work (comme stagiare) for an avocat there!
ReplyDeletetoo funny, used to go to the stinky cheese place not too far too!
memories.......
lucky yes...but with an amazing photographic eye!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely...did you pick me up a little something at Van Cleef and Arpels?? How thoughtful you are!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful composition!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely picture!
ReplyDeletePlace Vendôme is so beautiful (the shops though are a little out of my league.
ReplyDeleteI love the iron railing.
What a gorgeous shot! Yes, you are very lucky :)
ReplyDeleteAfter every storm the sun will smile...and this picture is the reflexion of that...beatiful shot...mmmm Paris. HAve a great day
ReplyDeleteIsn't the Ritz there too? I recognize that column from the movie, "How to Steal a Million" with Audrey Hepburn and Peter O'Toole. One of my all time favorite movies, btw. If you haven't seen it, please do! So, so funny, she's so beautiful, and he's so handsome--how could it not be a great movie? :)
ReplyDeleteYes, you're right Christie, this is where Ritz is.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful... I'm glad that the holiday lights are still shining. I was finally in Paris for 5 nights in Dec (I flew in the day after the big snow). And, as a friend had said, and a lot of you know, Paris in Dec is BREATHTAKING.
ReplyDeleteI had a list of "must sees" from your posts Eric, and that definitely enhanced my experience. Thank you so much, and I'm glad that you survived your flu. What remedy would your mom have when you were a child?
a bientot

You've had la grippe? :( so sorry. It's a while since I've been in, sorry... lovely photo. Do hope you're feeling better x
ReplyDeleteOh Eric, this is so lovely; you certainly have recovered nicely! I wonder what time of the day it was with only one person and one car? How perfect to frame those three little lights in the swirl of the iron railing. You are MAGIC!
ReplyDeleteNice shot. Glad you're feeling better. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI love this photo. I love all and any detail I can catch from the pic. Thanks for sharing ; that's most of the pleasure.
