I'm just back from a little Paris Thanksgiving dinner with good American friends (that I met thanks to PDP actually). We went to Le Café de Mars, a delicious restaurant which chef is... American. It was super good and very true to the tradition (well, so I think). We had a very good time and since this restaurant is located in the 7th arrondissement, on the way out we paid a visit to the Eiffel Tower. The night was beautiful, the sky slightly cloudy... I could not help but taking a shot. And when I say A shot, I mean a zillion... Including this little video: 3 minutes of peace for the eyes...
Hey! I wish I had known you were together with PHX, I would have baked a cake. Actually, I would have sent a text message. I'm glad you had fun. I miss you all.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, le photo et superbe.
Love!
ReplyDeleteWow. One more thing to be thankful for today. That is spectacular.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. Who wouldn't stop to snap photos eh?
ReplyDeleteThat's a spectacular photo, Eric. You're knocking them out of the park on a regular basis. Hugs to PHX!
ReplyDeleteI have bad jetlag and cannot sleep, so hello PDP. Dinner was better than I have had at home. There was even string bean casserole with fresh beans, real US type fried onion rings (the American chef said they ate half of them during the day!) and not a drop of Campbell's mushroom soup but a homemade light cream sauce. I brought paper turkeys from NY to decorate the table and a little girl near us was eyeing them all evening. She got to take them home, Our company? Well worth a trip to Paris!! Hugs back to everyone!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing picture!!!
ReplyDeleteEric, what's the music of your video?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Eric, for the gorgeous after-dinner photo and video. What a lovely way to spend Thanksgiving - good friends, good food, charming bistrot! Plus, we didn't have to watch football on tv.
ReplyDelete@Thib. Quicj answer cause I have to run. It's "Everyday" by Carly Comando. Now famous because it's also the Downton Abbey music!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was appropriate for this scene ;-)
Blame it on all that turkey (as evidenced by your restaurant photo) for not commenting last night but I just couldn't stay up. It was indeed a fine (PDP) Thanksgiving in our little corner of Paris. As they say in our quartier "ya'll come back...ya heah?"
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love the video.
I never tire of your photos of Lady Eiffel. Magnifique, as always!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I miss the Eiffel tower - great pic as always :)!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had the same turkey dinner I (and probably half the population of the U.S.) had. And in excellent company. Merci beaucoup for the video -- now I can watch it whenever I need an ET fix.
ReplyDeletebeautiful photo and i love that you had a traditional thanksgiving dinner! in paris!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the video - makes me want to head back there right away! Will view it again and show it to the rest of the family when they wake up for breakfast and start on the leftovers - can you get turkey hash on gouffres (waffles) at any bistro in Paris?
ReplyDeleteNice to see those familiar faces round the dinner table, all brought together by PDP. Only one place empty, I wonder whose that might be....?
ReplyDeleteAnother great ET shot : only you can personnalize and even make alive so well this big ET monument ... Yes big is good.
ReplyDeleteThat's gorgeous ET. I want to know about the resto. I'll just bet it's out of my budget. :(

Hello PHX. Glad you all had fun at the dinner. Looking forward to meeting your Eric.
ReplyDeleteThis was so moving. Thank you for inspiring my day.

Your video is so fantastic. I wish I could go to Paris right now and see the Eiffel Tower lights for myself. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJust back from a loooooong and tiresome day. I'm glad you enjoyed my little video/photo. The show was absolutely magnificent yesterday evening, believe me.
ReplyDeleteI feel so guilty having spent this Friday off sleeping in and doing relaxing things. . .and you so tired after your long day. The video was very peaceful to watch. When I first saw the still, though I kind of thought of John Travolta in the classic disco pose, just from the way the light beams at the top were angled, and perhaps a bit of a conditioned response after your July 14 film :-). So I wasn't expecting the music you chose today. Very soothing to watch the sparkling lights by. Did you use your time lapse device for this or did you click the shutter manually for each shot? And what did you place your camera on for this? Loved it.

Virginia: The restaurant is the Café de Mars on rue Augereau in the 7th. And you'll be pleased to hear it is not expensive. The chef is from Seattle ! Thus the authentic TG dinner.
ReplyDelete*sigh*, soon!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. I didn't see this one because my mother passed away the other day. She also would have loved this, especially the video with its perfect choice of music. It is indeed incredibly peaceful. Merci, Eric.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and your family, LGreenWriter.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Petrea!
ReplyDeleteShe couldn't be more beautiful! The night gown is amazing. Thanks for sharing, Eric!
ReplyDeleteThe picture and the video are a great Thanksgiving gift. I am thankful for PDP!!
ReplyDeleteThrough your glance I find the Paris of my childhood. I wish long life your site which I adore!
