You must think I spend my time on the Trocadéro esplanade, but I don't! I just happened to be there yesterday (Tuesday) and witnessed this funny scene: A newlywed couple from Japan was being photographed in front of the Eiffel Tower when suddenly a group of students, who obviously were having a French moment, stood behind them and started applauding and cheering. Everybody laughed, including the couple. Sorry for the bad quality of the photos, there was not enough light (the weather was pretty covered as you can see).

Bad quality? Where? These are just fantastic. The bride and groom look so happy. The tower looks wonderful in the misty light. The light blue sky is so pretty. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mrs. V.
ReplyDeleteThank you! The pictures bring a touch of joy to a gray November day
ReplyDeletenot every marriage has bright blue skies but this bride and groom look so happy (as they should). how great is this for a wedding photo op - and they probably dont even know their pictures are being enjoyed world wide by secret photographer Eric!
ReplyDeletecongratulations to the newlyweds
Béret. Check. Baguette. Check. Bottle of wine. Check. Striped shirt. Check. Eiffel Tower. Check. Okay, it's really Paris! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat joyful photos! This type of moment is what we dream of as your devoted fans.
ReplyDeleteAs far as YOU GO, Alexa, harrumph, yes, we sore losers will not easily forget your GF triumph.
These pics bring a smile to my face. Merci, mon ami.
ReplyDeleteGreat. You captured the right moment. I definitely love those photos !!!
ReplyDeleteI love this!! What a great capture!
ReplyDeleteWonderful moments captured in these photos! So joyful.
ReplyDeleteOnly in france. A bunch of drunken têtes à claques sneaking in smbody's special moment and spoiling it. Vive les mariééés,hic.
ReplyDeleteGo back to your maid room and enjoy a shampoo.
I bet if it was a french couple having their special moment in japan people would be respectfully bobbing and tiptoeing around
So charming! I hope the couple can in some way obtain copies of your great shots for their wedding album.
ReplyDeleteEric:
ReplyDeleteWonderful delightful capture of a spontaneous moment of love in the the city of love!
I love the fog. It adds a romantic mood to the exuberance of the moment.
BTW: what is that stand on the right? A souvenir stand? Yuk!
And as long as I am "commenting," Thanks for not "goosing" up the contrast, sharpness, or whatever you have been doing with the last four to six images posted. Those are very raw, the color unreal and detail is washed out. The softness in this shot retains the mood of the moment.
Okay, those of you who carry a national flag in your back pocket, raise your hands. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Eric. Glad you were there to capture them. Katie
The couple doesn't look happy at all in the second pic, but we shouldn't be suprised ;)
ReplyDeleteFantastic!! This is one of my favorite pictures ever. I love it!! (and now want to have our vow renewal in Paris just so I can do this!! LOL)
ReplyDeleteGreat place for wedding photos. Like le Tour Eiffel, you imagine the heights to which you will ascend, but it's more and more foggy and blurry the higher you go. Keep on climbing!
ReplyDelete@Steverino "Thanks for not "goosing" up the contrast, sharpness, or whatever you have been doing with the last four to six images posted. Those are very raw, the color unreal and detail is washed out. The softness in this shot retains the mood of the moment."
ReplyDeleteI know, I tend to do it more and more and I always question myself for doing it! this is undoubtedly due the current Instagram (and other software of the kind...) trend; raw pictures tend to look stale. I know it's crazy... I'll try to be more subtle!
And yes, it's a souvenir stand on the right!
@Anonymous "A bunch of drunken têtes à claques sneaking in smbody's special moment and spoiling it." It was not that bad; they were just having fun, it did not last very long and even the married couple laughed.
@Christie "Fantastic!! This is one of my favorite pictures ever. I love it!! (and now want to have our vow renewal in Paris just so I can do this!! LOL)" I hope you'll let me know so that I can come and take a photo of you jumping!
Nice picture, it almost looks staged. Eric you have perfect timing, right place at the right time.
ReplyDeleteWas going to say what Pickled Parrot said—your timing is impeccable! (And I'd love it if some cute French teenagers came to join in my Paris wedding photo.)
ReplyDeleteHa, great scene.
