I know it's an easy photo: stunning sky, beautiful statue, unusual light... But there is no harm in going the easy way when you can ;-) I thought this photo is so pure that it was perfect to start the year. I took it at the Tuileries gardens like the one last Sunday. It shows a sculpture by Pierre Bourdict called The Tiber (which is the name of a river in Rome, Italy) and it's absolutely splendid. Not much else to add except THANK YOU very much for your nice messages these past days. May the new year bring you all much joy and happiness.

This very light blue sky cames from photoshop, doesn't it? :)
ReplyDelete... or you want to say it's real sky over Paris now?!
That's a great sky and a beautiful sculpture whose name I love, from Roma. Unique.
ReplyDeletelook at the colors in that gorgeous sky. simply magnificent!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, and a fine choice.
ReplyDeleteBonne Annee to you, mon ami, and everyone else. Sorry I didn't check in yesterday/last night. I was...busy. Happy New Year indeed!
The Tiber (statue) against the sky looks quite river-like! Good for a fresh start to a new year.
ReplyDeleteNational Geographic quality, Eric! That sky is exceptional. You are off to a strong start in 2013!
ReplyDeleteUtterly gorgeous way to kick off 2013 - sigh and thank you!
ReplyDeleteLovely way to kick off a new year!! SO looking forward to the day when I get to see Paris in person; thank you for fueling those dreams with such wonderful photos, Eric! Blessing this year!
ReplyDelete(Hoping to come around my daughter's 16th brithday, so we have about 2 1/2 years left to save. We have about 1/5 of what we need so far! It takes a lot longer to save when you need tickets for 4!)
I do not know if it's me but it makes me think of heaven after the passage of the Patrouille de France, on July 14, on the Champs Elysees! It lacks only a little red ... Blue, like the river, and the white of the trip are present in the sky. Red, like the warm sun of Italy, not far :) It is a cool winter in Paris for the moment. I love it!
ReplyDeleteBonne année 2013 à tous et merci eric pour l'inspiration de toutes tes images et tes légendes.
Thanks so much Eric and a Very Happy New Year from New York!!
ReplyDeleteCheers

@magdalena "This very light blue sky cames from photoshop, doesn't it? :)" No, I promise it's a "real sky". But, yes, played a tiny bit with lightroom!
ReplyDelete@Cn "La patrouille de France" oui, je n'y avais pas pensé, mais il y a de ça !
@Christie "SO looking forward to the day when I get to see Paris in person"
You can come, I'll wait for you ;-)
