Deck chairs at Paris Plage
I went to Paris Plage today to take a few photos and my favorite one is probably this one, as it shows exactly what this event is all about: spend some quiet time by the Seine, surrounded by the magnificent scenery of the river banks in the same exact deck chairs you could have in a sea resort. I love it! And though it's time for me to take a little break by the "real" sea... And it's not going to be Normandy this time, nor Brittany, but the South... (And don't worry, I will still post a photo everyday on PDP, needless to say!).

Gorgeous. I do believe the pigeons are following you, Eric!
ReplyDeleteHave fun in the sun. Wear protection, whether it be sun or whatever other kind you need. ;)
What a lovely photo. The green of the trees make a great statement against the grey..:)
ReplyDeleteLovely! I was just at the lovely beach today. Lots more waves here though! Hope you enjoy your beach visit!
ReplyDeleteI wish the lady with the blond hair would be me!
ReplyDeleteA deck chair with a Paris view—perfect! Hope the view is lovely and the sun is bright for your vacances too. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThere's something Magritte-like about this photo. The iconic Paris city/riverscape with the slightly out-of-place deckchairs. Love the trees against the buildings.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in the sun, Eric.
How wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAnd how wonderful is your blog.
Thanks so very much for each and every post.. I am lucky enough to be in the USA so I can read two a day!
I love the photo, I wish you a lovely sunny break in the South. Love to think of you being in a relaxing position ;-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful, wonderful image!
ReplyDeleteIt is so blasted jungle hot here I can't even sit outside in my yard. Well, catch up on e-mails, blah blah. I should be creating, but I'm wasting time. Well, it is summer after all.
ReplyDeleteI'd much rather be sitting on the Seine. (Remember Marie's comment in the 2008 picnic video: "We're here on the scene" (Seine?)
How absolutely lovely. It makes me wistful for Paris.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful vacation, Eric!
So tranquil.
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays .
The south. I think of Saint-Tropez and some of the most spectacular scenery ever viewed.
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone is waiting to capture you for her own daily photo blog.
It's beachy yet elegant. The muted colours are gentle and lovely. I love it. Have a wonderful holiday, Eric!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, relaxing shot. Which lens did you use? I like the vignetting. So off to the south? You lucky thing. Can we please have some southern photos? ;)
ReplyDeleteBonnes vacances ! Profites-en bien !
ReplyDeleteOnly thing they're missing is the umbrella to protect them from the rain today! Love the focus effect in this.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo, Eric. Everything beyond the chairs and cobblestones appears to be a backdrop for a play.
ReplyDeleteBonnes vacances!
This is so lovely! I would love to be in one of those deck chairs! I like how the sky and the buildings look sort of dim, but the trees are very vibrant.
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm taking it, even with the grey cloudy sky! ;-) thank you for your great eye catching!... I really appreciate your dedication to PDP even when you are in vacation. That's curious but when I know you are not in Paris, I feel more homesick. Bizarre!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I wish you have fun and a great sun in the South. I know you won't need this wish because it is always fun and sun in the South.
Beautiful photo, Eric. I too love the green trees against the various shades of grey. It's a very peaceful sort of shot.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely holiday in the sunny south!
Enjoy your time in the South. We just returned from a FAB-U-LOUS two weeks in the Cote d'Azure ...staying with friends
ReplyDelete(honestly the only way to afford it and the BEST way to enjoy it!)
Have a great time!
Regards, Nancy L.
Genie already wrote my exact impression of what this photo looks like to me. I think you have one of those special PDP moments with this one!
ReplyDeleteHappy hols Eric; you DO have a great amount of free days - but hey, I mustn't forget, you're Parisian....
ReplyDeleteThis is THE photo I'd have taken too - it encapsulates everything I love about beach photos, although the waves are a bit on the low side... LOL
I love the muted colour treatment you gave this shot, dis-saturation it might be called (heck, I don't know, neither French nor English are my mother tongues). Truly enchanting in any case!
Thank You so much for the daily fun - j'apprécie énormément!
Gros bec
I'm taking it too more twice than once and I'm fascinated by the incredible light you get in your photographies.
ReplyDeleteThere is something like 'seuls au monde' in this one that makes it be really sweet. What I love too with 'Paris plage' is this 'hors du commun' thing that you've got very well, Eric, in image.
Happy South to you.
Love it!! Yes the deck chairs really do make it!!
ReplyDeletei love the image.
