Sprinkler at Paris Plage
I know you're going to say I'm obsessed with kids playing with sprinklers (remember?), but what can I say, I think they make great photos. This year, they installed some of them in a sort of jungle area, which makes it even more out of place! Great success among the kids, needless to say. Especially since the nice weather has returned and that we're expecting very high temperature this weekend. I'll be in the South again, after 4 days in Trouville where it rained ;-)

I like this one. Well composed.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...I like the green and the greeneries.
ReplyDeleteI like it Eric. I've done several paintings of Golden Gate Park in mist (the water sprinklers). I think it gives a good sense of depth to inner city compositions. The park seems to go on forever -- like the rain forest. :-) Yes, and I have incorporated children, dogs, ducks, and even the park gardener into the compositions. You know, whoever is there. The ducks were having a great time.
ReplyDeleteOnce I saw white swans on the Seine in Paris. I guess they decided to drop by to check things out. I have made several compositions of them. Along with an old man who happened to come upon them, and either he was talking to them or feeding them. It was very touching. Parisians have asked me if the compositions were real. Yes, I paint from life. They couldn't believe their eyes. And these are people who were born in Paris. LOL
I love this. Makes me feel like I'm right there and have returned to my 8-year-old self. Thanks for a lovely break in my day, Eric!
ReplyDeleteNow this one is very lovely and refreshing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful photo!! They young boy looks like he is having so much fun!! Glad somebody is!! LOL!!! Just like a tropical rain forest!!!
ReplyDeleteYou do have a knack for capturing the adorable children in the sprinklers! This shot is great, but tonton is right: It does look more like Paris Rain Forest than Paris Plage!
ReplyDeleteAnd four days ago you were saying "rotten summer"!!
ReplyDeleteLife is a carnival.
Two bits a shot.
"Two bits" means 25 cents. Two bits bought a ride on the roler coaster or the Ferris wheel, or one shot with a rifle to win a prize for your sweetie. Then you could ride a boat through the "tunnel of love" and smootch. Fantasy, misty memories, carnival rides, summer. Not so rotten, mon ami.
Life is a carnival.
Two bits a shot.
Sometimes you win the cupie doll.
Sometimes you're in the freak show.
Hi Eric, I'm catching up on all your wonderful shots this week. This one is particularly nice. And yes, I remember the other! Has it been awfully hot? (Humid, I can see that.) Have a lovely few days off.
ReplyDeleteVery touching. I'm smiling at your photo, Eric. What a lovely gift to start the day with a smile :)
ReplyDeleteThank you.
This is so charming! The greens are so vivid, the child looks joyful, and the rest is sort of clouded in the mist. I am getting more and more anxious to see the Paris Plage someday, it is looking like quite the site!
ReplyDeleteOh Eric. This is beautiful! I think you can Zazzle this as the child's face is not showing? You think? I know this would make a really fantastic card. I love it. :)
ReplyDeleteOooooh! I've been to the rainforest and this is just beautiful! (I want to walk on that boardwalk, let me tell you!!) Gorgeous, lovely, and well done, Eric! Enjoy your holiday!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done, Eric. I wish I could be there with him right now and cool myself too!
ReplyDeleteThis is a childhood moment you perfectly captured.
Reminds me a bit of Le Douanier Rousseau painting but I prefer your photo. Truly vivid.
The light in Paris is really beautiful today with a wonderful weather. Probably the one you are having in the South, too.
Such a sweet photo!
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful picture Eric!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the details, Lois!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous!!
Amazing piece really fresh
ReplyDeletethis is my favorite photo from your blog love
ReplyDeleteThat's a great shot Eric! No way you'd think it was on the banks of the Seine in a million years!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say I'd head over there and try to do something similar, but I guess the fun's over for another year by now..
Really like this one. Reminds me of a photo I have of my boy (just not as professional obv).
