Reflexion

This could have been the perfect photo for a "reflexion" theme day ;-), but no, I photographed it just for the sake of it. I found this Bugatti - yes it's a Bugatti! right at the bottom of the Paris Hilton, which is not really known for sheltering homeless people ;-) The car was really the center of attraction, and I felt a little silly photographing it, just like everybody did, in the street. But at least I have an excuse: it was for PDP!

  1. I love the reflection you captured on this incredbly shiny car. The tinest scratch on would cost a small fortune to repair I imagine. Looking at the number plate I can hazzard a guess what country it belongs to :)

  2. I am glad that you used your camera!:)
It is quite unique and a lovely image, or should I say just CAR?

  3. Glad you decided to join the crowd and take the shot (and I love the famous Tenin perspective on this vehicle in The Making Of)! Suppose it belongs to some oil-rich Saudi prince who buys Bugattis the way the rest of us buy Hyundais?

  4. It was the wheels of a Bugatti that caught the billowing scarves of Isadora Duncan and strangled her! She now rests [cremated] in Pere Lachaise. 'Faites attention!'

  5. The other photo doesn't look like Place Vendome, but what do I know?

Is it really chrome plated? Sweet.

  8. The Bugatti Veyron is the most recent Bugatti, produced at only 300 ex., with a few "magic numbers" :
    Engine: 8.0 L W16, 1001 hp,
    max. speed: 407 km/h
Price: from 1.3 to 1.9 million Euros

Obviously not accessible to most of us ;-)

  10. Superb car. I spent 9 hours in mine yesterday... I don't mean, mine is a Bugatti of course but I had a long trip and that could have been comfortable! I guess that when you can afford that car, you are not aware of the speed limit...

This car just sounds perfect for a trip in the South of France. Maybe Eric has rent it ?! Ok, be aware Eric if so and have a great fun though ;-) you'll tell us, i'm sure.

Thanks Thib for the interesting information about prices. OMG...

  12. May I say it's not that unusual to find a Bugatti at the bottom of Paris Hilton ...

  13. This must be the most informative Paris Hilton Shot... - by far!
I have plenty of 'similar' shots; I just love 'reflections' - in anything/from anything but this is easily a VERY special one - I stopped at Rolls & Maserati....
When I read the comments, I have a laugh - thanks for those informations about prize and size; v. interesting! I love the word plays, the giggles that must have accompanied the comments...
To you happy days - and no jealousy towards the owner pls; but I'd appreciate somebody telling me the text on the number (number?) plate. Looks more like a customized name plate...

  14. So pretty. I know, I know, a car is not supposed to be pretty, but this one is! And the building it reflects is even more interesting, I think. Thanks, Eric! I've never seen a Bugatti before! :)

  15. Interesting. Just recently here in London there has been a bit of media attention covering the rich Arabs who bring their bling-ed out cars over for the Summer, parking outside Harrods and racking up enormous parking fines (which would only be spare change for them) - I see they also make it to Paris, too!

  18. LOL Just after seeing this post yesterday, we went downtown and saw one of these:

    http://www.thesupercars.org/others/2010-devon-gtx/

I have to say in our little town of 6,000 people, I have seen some nice cars before, but never something that I have parked and walked back to take pictures of! This was a beauty. And for only $500,000, it can be yours, if you are one of the lucky 36 who can get on the waiting list first every year!
