Eat in Tokyo while in Paris!
No it is not a close up of the moon, but the globe that enlightens the walkway to a restaurant located 13 avenue du Président Wilson (16th arrondissement) called "Tokyo Eat" (a play on word that also means the inhabitant of Tokyo in French). I never had the chance to have lunch or dinner there but I will soon for all critics are excellent. They all mention the quality of food but also the decor (it's located in the Palais de Tokyo, a well known place for contemporary arts). Anybody went there?

I have an unusual question/comment...
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that the bottoms of tea cups in Chinese restaurants in France have very "interesting" images (at least within the several Chinese restaurants I've frequented in France). Is this also the case for Japanese tea cups in France? Any idea why these images are there?
I have Palais de Tokyo on my list of places to visit next trip... peut-etre je monge a "Tokyo Eat".
ReplyDeletemerci, Eric.
Right! Japs do know cook!:]
ReplyDeleteAhhhh....I get it....like a "Tokyoïte" ! Very clever, although I'm not sure I would have gotten that just by passing by. I did think it was the moon at first, but instead of seeing the "man in the moon" I saw Japan.
ReplyDeleteThis will be on my list of places to eat next time I visit Paris. The Japanese food in Paris is great!
ReplyDeleteI would prefere mooon;)
ReplyDeleteJust my wish list: Paris' street in the morning. How it is this days?
ReplyDeleteHi Eric excellent site, I have an architectural blog site about our journeys around Glasgow, and will place a link to you at www.glasgowdetail.blogspot.com

Wonderful shot, Eric. I have to admit that looking for a Japanese restaurant while in Paris would not be my first choice. Too much other wonderful french cuisine to sample.
ReplyDeleteCool photo, Eric. Haven't been to the Palais de Tokyo yet, mais peut etre la prochaine fois...j'aime bien le 16eme.
ReplyDeleteMs. miami: no, "french" japanese cups don't let you see girls or boys when filled...
ReplyDeleteI have no clue why those images are there, that would interesting to know...
(do they have that in China?)
JOYEUX ANNIVERSAIRE MON GRAND !!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael for the explanation... I was staring at the image and really couldn't get the pun...
ReplyDeleteAnyway just to say: I've never been to the actual restaurant but was a real addict to the Palais de Tokyo when they were rebuilding it... it is the coolest museum ever!
Thanks to your photo Eric, I know where to eat next time I'll be in Paris
And if it's really your birthday, alors "Joyeux anniversaire" from me too :)
