One last stop at Roland Garros, the French tennis open. This past week-end the women and men finals took place: Belgium's Justine Henin-Hardenne won for the 3rd time and Rafael Nadal defended his crown over top-ranked Roger Federer. You might not be interested in tennis but it's just for the sake of showing this picture that I took inside of the stadium this time, unlike the
previous one.
ReplyDeleteThis photo is so incredible.....good job Eric.....It makes you feel like you are in a old Fellini film...love it!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of the first day of the Harrods sale. Everyone queueing up for that special bargain!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant picture!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you were inside when everybody wanted tog go in. =)
Classy B& W
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. I'm not a huge tennis fan, but the "Grand Slams" always interest me. I am jealous that you were there. -Ryan
ReplyDeleteThere's something monumental about the lighting in this B&W.
ReplyDeleteAre you inside or outside? Looks a bit 50's with the guy in the hat and the b&w. The two girls, however, look kind of dingy.
ReplyDeleteWow! "Sol y sombra"... Beautiful contrast!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the best photos I have seen ever! Bravo, Eric - this one just has it all :)

What a great photo. Looks mysterious.
ReplyDeleteRegards
That's gorgeous. Great contrast. You certainly have an artistic eye.
ReplyDeleteDidn't realize that "tennis whites" referred to the spectators, too! This is a terrific shot, and it's brilliant of you to render it in B&W....
ReplyDeleteIt looks like tennis fans in France are much better dressed than their American counterparts. =)
ReplyDeleteThe B&W works really well in this picture. A+
I am short of time tonight to answer everyone, but I just wanted to thank you all for your nice comments.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this shot. It's just so dynamic!
ReplyDeleteThe man in one side, the woman in the other one. Cool.
ReplyDeleteB&W results finely in this kind of photos.
Eric, you are just so gifted! The B&W does justice to this classiest of games.
