Have you seen Kitty?

Hi Eric, I hope that "Kitty" is found soon too. I have a soft spot for les chats and one of ours is called "Pretty Kittypuss Cat" but usually referred to as Kittypuss.
ReplyDeleteMeooooow...
ReplyDeleteThat is translated as "Find your way home soon, kitty!"
Lost, Blue Persian x Siamese, name of Charlotte Persephone Hermoine Linklater. Answers to "here, kitty kitty kitty"
ReplyDeleteMaybe the cat took its summer vacation. It's visiting the Chat d'Azur.
ReplyDeleteThis is terrible Eric. At the begining of the post I was afraid it was the cat that stays inside Shakespeare & Co. cause I've seen it there and would feel terrible knowing it was disparu!
ReplyDeleteBut I feel bad anyway that Kitty is missing. My dog ran away once but thankfully we found her hours later in a street far away.
I hope they find Kitty too.
And be sure to read"Time was Soft There," about this store. It has a wonderful sense of "place."
ReplyDeleteQuelle coincidence! I am reading a book called "The Shoe Queen." It takes place in Paris in 1925, and I just read about a tryst that occurred in a private room upstairs inside Shakespeare & Company!!
ReplyDeleteI hope they find Kitty soon. S/he looks just like my dearly departed "Gonzo"
AS IF you could get a cat to come when you called it anyway! I hope they find it, but I have my doubts. I agree with Jeff's assessment (which was excellent by the way!).
ReplyDeleteHey, you're in my old neighborhood again, cool :-D
ReplyDeleteI have to say, this is the first time I see a bilingual Lost Pet ad. But then, again, if the cat hangs out at Shakespeare & Co. cat, it should be in English.
LOL, Jeff!
Jeff....it was hillarious!! Sincerely!
ReplyDeleteIt is funny to see a bilingual lost pet sign. I'm allergic to cats so I have a dog, but it's sad when anyone loses a pet. Maybe it's hiding in the books at Shakespeare and Co. If I were a cat I'd hang out there.
ReplyDeleteHi Eric, I hope that "Kitty" is found soon too. Chao!!
ReplyDeleteA few years ago, we were in Dublin, London and Paris, and Paris was the only city in which I saw any dogs and/or cats. I mentioned it to someone, and she said, "Parisians love their animals." I hope the owner finds "Kitty" soon!
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me, please, what arrondissement means? I'm guessing it's a section of the city, of course, but I'm not sure if it means something else. Sorry for the stupid question.
I don't think she arrives here but we'll set an eye on the French "border". I hope she is lucky enough to survive wherever she is.

Hmmm, you don't suppose Kitty sneaked over to the 1st arrondisement--Les Halles? It may have seen your August 8 post, Eric.:) Seriously, though, I hope Kitty is found soon. I agonized 10-12 minutes one day when I couldn't find my little Pomeranian.
ReplyDeleteAs to my own personal "souvenir" of Shakespeare and Company bookshop was when we convinced a girl in our group to read a poem she'd written about Paris. After finally convincing her to do this, we find out that you have to register for the evening poetry reading a week in advance!!!
Chris, Paris is divided into 20 arrondissements, or neighborhoods. Starting in the center of the city with the first arrondissement, the numbers go up from the center of town as they spiral out. You can find a terrific explanation at Wikipedia, if you care to read more on it.
Glad to be back and checking you out, Paris.
Loraine
I was sure this post would move a few cats lovers around here!
ReplyDeleteNo Loraine, I don't think Kitty went to the Rat place cause it's really far from Shakespeare and Co.
Actually maybe Sab -(a regular contributor here) will keep us posted as I know he goes to this bookshop quite regularly.
Yes, Sab, if you are reading this, please let us know if Kitty has been found!
ReplyDeleteI found Kitty! Well, sort of.
ReplyDeleteClick on "the current mouser" link at the bookstore's website.

Ohhhhhh, I know what happened... that kitty has seen Ratatouille and now is very busy looking for the chef!
ReplyDeleteThe photo on my calendar this month is of a white kitty cat sitting on a second story ledge next to a streetsign of "La Rue du Chat qui Peche" Maybe that's where Kitty went...
ReplyDeletePont Girl it's funny you mentioned Rue du Chat Qui Peche. When I was in Paris, as I was visiting Shakespeare and Co., and then looking at a map, I was incredibly curious to see what this street looked like (somehow I thought it should be a peculiar street cause it has a very peculiar name) so I went straight over there. It's not very far from Rue de la Bûcherie actually.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got there I found out that it was indeed a little peculiar, it is the narrowest street I've ever seen!!!
I don't think it should even be considered a street, but just a narrow passage or something like that.
Anyway, I was curious and it was worth going there, anything in Paris is worth doing or seeing.
You know what they say, curiosity killed the cat!
The calendar photo peaked my interest as well. Now with your description - I want to see the street even more!!
ReplyDeleteApparently it is the narrowest street in Paris, there´s a sign "Histoire de Paris" there saying something abot the origin of the street.
ReplyDeleteSince you´re going to Paris in november, you might as well pass by this street!
Hi, Im someone who reads this blog, but never has posted a comment. But this is tragic. I was just in Paris for 4 months and stopped by to see this cat almost everytime I walked past the bookstore because she was lovely and sassy. I even went to say goodbye to her one of my last days there. Now back in Chicago, I feel helpless because their is nothing I can do! I just hope they find her, and I will be able to see her again when I return in December!
ReplyDeleteWhile the address in the poster is correct, your comment has the bookshop in the rue de Buci rather than rue de la Bûcherie. Too bad about the missing kitty.
ReplyDeleteOh no! That's the cat which I was trying to photo last September, being in Shakespeare and Co.! What a pity. I hope they will find it by October, I wish to see the kitty again.
