Pretty soon it'll be cold in Paris and it won't be easy to have lunch outside. So, before it is to late I took this shot. No much to say about it, just that I like the effect of the awning blinds...
Yep. It's definitely Heinz tomato sauce behind the venetian blinds. Don't they have a law in Paris that bans such crudities ? Perhaps Michael was responsible, non?
yes soon it will be frrrrrrreeeeeezing cold in Paris and Little Eric will go back sleeping into his cave till the end of Spring 2008. So you can be sure that every picture in between will be an automatic post ! ;o)
It's September, not October! Maybe you were spoiled in Florida with the tropical heat? Come on, is September a cold month? I don't know about Paris, but it's one of the best months here, warm in the day and cool for sleeping at night. (Actually, it's 90 degrees F today.) It's a nice film noir photo indeed, but it's too soon to be fearing winter. There's plenty of time to dance in the parks, and eat at the sidewalk cafes.
Jeff: in Paris, you start wearing that extra layer or two right around now. I miss the "Back to School weather, the smell of the grass and dirt after the rain, but I don't miss the cars splashing pedestrians on the sidewalk when it rains, and I sure as hell don't miss Winter (Nov. through Feb.) in Paris.
Thanks for seeing this opportunity and taking it. I really like the fact that it's black and white, too, because I feel color would have not suited it.
The shot is very film noir...shadows and darkness, and things....Oh! My!
ReplyDeleteCold, hot, inside or outside...you're still in Paris!:-)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo..right up my alley[as they say]but...Is that really a bottle of Heinz Ketchup on the table??? Mon Dieu!!
ReplyDeleteLabor Day is bringing the summer to an end for many Americans..and La Rentree for France...oh well, soon we'll have winter in Paris photos??
Eric,
ReplyDeleteThose are called "blinds" in English.
I like this shot.
ReplyDeleteI'm back from my mini-break to Las Vegas and just got caught up on all the PDP's I missed!
ReplyDeleteCool shot - I like these "day in the life" pix. It does look like a scene from a movie. We need Lynn to give us some dialogue!
"Pretty soon it'll be cold in Paris"...IT IS COLD IN PARIS! Arghhh
ReplyDeleteThis could be a photo of an American diner. Where was it taken?
ReplyDeleteits is cold in Budapest, too....13 Celsius!
ReplyDeleteI agree with johnnyparsons, it is very film noir, and very well done.

ReplyDeleteAnd yet you are on the inside taking pictures of people eating on the outside. Have you give up on nice weather already? =)
ReplyDeleteSeriously folks, it is already feeling cold here. It was a high of 18c(68f) yesterday with a low of 8c(58f)! That's cold for September!
