Party at the Paris Town Hall

I'm just back from a party at the Paris Town hall that I visited for the first time in my life! Why? Because the Mayor is currently lobbying to obtain from l’ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Number) what is called an "extension" such as ".com", ".fr", ".net"... only this time it would be ".paris"! He took advantage of Le Web to organize a big party and publicize a "petition" that can be found here. I'm glad this gave me the occasion to visit this stunning building.

Love, love, love this picture!! The tilt, the colors, the people. I always take pictures without the people in them and my hubbie says that I lose a lot by doing that - -now I see that he is right... again!

I'm glad you got to visit the building, too, Eric, because that we we get to see inside. Did you take more pictures? May we please see them? Is this a difficult building to visit? Not open to the public? I'd love to know more. It's gorgeous.

ooh the Mayor of Paris? I met him in September at the Grape Harvest Vendange in the 11th! I have a picture to prove it!! :) He said in his best English...'welcome to Paris madame'! :) great picture Eric!

Remind the Mayor that he should actually request ".paris.fr" so that the world would not be confused with other same named cities in the world i.e. ".paris.tx" ( plus the 12 additional U.S. cities with the "paris" name. Same for Canada and Alaska, etc,etc .

I"ve always wanted to get inside the Hotel de Ville as well. Nice digs for your Mayor. It's so beautiful on the outside, I'm not surprised that it's fancy schmanzy on the inside. I'm trying to remember the exhibit that was there this past summer. Eiffel??? Well the lines were too long and I had to pass.
