Paris Safari (2)

Tuesday, May 04, 2010 Publié par Eric Tenin

Look what I found in the middle of Paris?! A Rhino... Of course it's not worth the ones I could see in Kenya last February, but still, I think the work of Harry James is absolutely stunning. BTW, if you want to see it for real - and providing you're in Paris at the moment, for I don't think it'll last for ever... - this Rhino lives at rue Alibert in the 10th arrondissement.

Now that's something you don't see every day. Long live the purple rhino!

Ha, I did actually see a photo of this in a graffiti group at flickr a few days ago. There was a few bikes parked nearby i think.

WOW, how well done it is! This rhino is really beautifully made and looks like if he was real. That's impressive.
The question is what does he do here though? Should be happier in his native country along with hippos, elephants and other safari friends...!
    Beautiful anyway :)

Wow—this does look rather like the real one you captured in Kenya! Harry James can draw on my wall any time.

The white rhino is an endangered species, but the purple rhino is even rarer, IT MUST BE PRESERVED!

The fact is, it's much nicer than the building that it's painted on.

Sometimes, graffiti is actually better than no graffiti! Here is an excellent example. The artist should probably do mural painting that wouldn't be erased; his work is amazing.

Don't know what kind of animal I ate at lunch and certainly not any rhino but I'm feeling like if I had eaten 2 like it, so sick I am feeling after lunch... No, no, this beautiful rhino has nothing to do with my stomch but I may feel as out of order as the rhino may feel himself in Paris. Maybe I'm already a rhino like in the Ionesco book named 'Rhinocéros'! ha ha... ;)

Belle trouvaille, Eric. Je me demande bien ce que ce Rhino peut inspirer à Harry James dans Paris mais ça rend très bien en tous cas! Beau travail!

I see him every morning in the mirror before I make coffee...

Pffft you could have rang at my door, I would have make some tea, Eric! This graffiti is, well let's say 50 meters away from my appartment.

Anyway, it's a wondeful graffiti, and the thing you can't notice on the picture is the size of the hipo: it is HUGE!

Eric, have you ever shown the rhino statue outside near Musée d'Orsay?? I'd love to see your take, along with all the other animals over there!
