It's been a very quiet long weekend in Paris, the city was almost empty, but now the time has come to go back to work... I actually took this photo last Friday, when I had to take the metro to pick up my scooter that was being serviced. I saw this scene and thought it would make a good photo. The rectangle tile you can see on the wall is
typical of the Paris Metro.
For all of you that have to get back into the Monday morning grind this is a very appropriate picture. Sorta reminds me of how everyone must feel after having the weekend off! LOL

It's a great shot, Eric! Love the shadow of the commuter on the tile—here, if you wanted it for your kitchen, say, you'd go buy "subway" tile. Guess they use the same stuff in the subway, metro, tube . . .
ReplyDeleteThe tile may be typical, but the escalator is not. I finally counted and there were 5 flights of stairs up from my métro stop last time I stayed in Paris.
ReplyDeleteParis metro is one of the most efficient and convenient mode of transport. You may be pick pocketed in the Paris metro, but you won't be knifed or shot.
ReplyDeleteEric, this is a stunning, great, wonderful shot. Can you tell I like it? It's one of my favorites of yours. So sleek and modern and moody. just fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Petrea! It happens to be my birthday, so I say "Merci pour Le cadeau, Eric!"
ReplyDeleteGreat shot Eric!
ReplyDeleteThat is just lovely. The cloud-filled sky with the smooth metal and tile tones....very cool. Not the Eiffel Tower cool, but cool nonetheless. :) Back into a routine here, so it's cleaning and groceries today. Exciting, I know. LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Beau Gosse!
ReplyDeleteyes beau gosse, bon anniversaire ! had I known I would have shipped you a pack of Metro tiles LOL!
ReplyDelete@Petrea "Eric, this is a stunning, great, wonderful shot." ;-) I'm glad you like it, cause I do too ;-))
@Christie How was the cleaning and grocery?!!
Happy Birthday, Beau Gosse! Hope it is just lovely! :)
ReplyDelete(Still working on everything - it is only noon here!)
I hate Mondays too! But seeing this makes me feel better that there's a lot of other people who think weekends are too short. I like the photo.
ReplyDeletethis reminds me of a shot in "The Day the Earth Stood Still" when he comes into the boarding house holding a suitcase all in silhouette.
ReplyDeleteSo eerily quiet, sharp and sleek.
Thank you for the kind wishes, everyone! :-)
