Playing Shi Fu Mi

I found another of these intriguing slogans that they post on sidewalks regularly. This one said "Do you want to play Shi Fu Mi?" -which apparently means "Stone paper cloth". Turns out it's a French clothing brand, for women. Anyway, I waited for people to pass by on it and took this photo that I kinda like a lot without knowing exactly why! Probably because it reminds me a bit of the Beatles Abbey Road album...

  1. Pas en français? A French clothing brand?

  2. All the feet and movement reminds me that I wanted to say that tonight Minneapolis and St. Paul are having our first "nuit blanche" or, as they say in Firenze, "blanc notte", an all night art festival. I'll ride my bike down to the river and see what happens. Should be fun. (I'll pack some French Pinot Noir!)

  3. My first thought was Japanese rock, paper, scissors. lol I like the photo as well, Eric. Love the shadows and the movement, and the stillness as well. Very nice. :)

  4. Never heard of the brand, but I LOVE their website. Reminds me of a mix between an Etch-a-sketch and paper I used in school. Ok, have to love the middle set of shoes in the photo.

  5. You know what they say: shi fu mi once shame on you, shi fu mi twice shame on me! ;-)

  6. @Petrea. Yes, I know, it's really weird. Even the Website is all in English.

@Jeff. Why, on earth, don't you have your Nuit Blanche on the same day as everybody?!

So it's " rock, paper, scissors" Not "Rock paper cloth?"

  7. Eric: Because we are a bit behind you! It takes a while for things to get across the ocean and over the Appalachians. Even the Voyageurs needed months to get here.

In rock paper scissors: rock bends scissors, scissors cuts paper, and paper covers rock. I don't know if cloth would defeat paper.

  8. Hey, could you please give me little details about the address ?
I'd like to go there, so I suppose you woudn't have the precised street, but if you remember a metro, a cafe, a shop or a monument it may help me to find the exact address ;)
