Ticket to ride?

Caught in the act... These two police officers may look "cool" on their bike, but they also give tickets! According to various sources about 5 million parking tickets are given every year in Paris and their price (11 € - when you pass the meter time, 35 € when you're parked in a forbidden area) should increase this year by 6 to 10 €... Two wheel vehicles also get tickets now for it is now forbidden to park on sidewalks, unlike when I started driving one...

  1. We have these bike cops in Los Angeles, too - except our parking tickets are way more expensive!

  3. Haha, I was thinking the same thing, Monica... I hope that they do not ticket walkers or Velib-riders. I do not need to worry about the car-tickets.

  5. @Monica: the Tenin Perspective is a classic, just like Channel, Dior or Pizza pie, and I hope it will remain that way...:)

  7. Another interesting part of Parisian life! I do like the new view, but hope the Tenin perspective hasn't changed! :) What will we call this one?

  8. Why, it's a oiseaux PDP view!

  9. LOL Phx!!!!
A vol d'oiseau, on voit tellement bien ce qui est important ou ne l'est pas !! That's a super nice PDP perspective!
But I hope this will remain again and always a Tenin perspective...! The best we ever and ever met ;)

  10. Actually, M. PDP has achieved a higher consciousness and now is above it all.

Reminds me of that silly joke about when the Dali Lama walked into a pizza joint and said "make me one with everything."

  11. I thought you looked a bit taller the last time I saw you, but this is ridiculous! Actually, ALL your perspectives are interesting. I just checked, and in NYC the parking tickets start at $65 and can be as much as $180—and if your car gets towed it'll set you back $250 to $300 to liberate it (even more if it stays overnight).

  12. LOL, Jeff!!! That's my kind of joke. : ) I'll dub this the Neo-Tenin Perspective. I like it, too.

  13. I got a ticket of 90 euro's last year for driving 50m in the wrong direction with my bike. Some ways they don't encourage people much to use the bike. Pedestrian are almost holy...aahh ;)
