Er...

Weird and enigmatic graffiti I found at rue Léon Frot. It says "Waiting for the accident"... What accident? A place one, a nuclear one, a new economic crisis? I really would like to know what the "artist" had in mind when posting this... Anyway I thought it was funny, in a provocative way. Have a nice - accident free - Saturday ;-)

  1. You might want to avoid this street for a while, Eric.

  2. Dangerous intersection, perhaps? I like how in French, it's "Tic Tac" when in English, it's "tick tock". In the U.S., a Tic Tac is a tiny little oval shaped candy that comes in different flavors :-). Happy weekend everyone!

  3. Waiting for Godot, waiting for an accident. As in the film Casablanca we wait --- and wait --- and wait. Therefore, send not to know for whom the Tic tolls, it Tacs for thee. :D

  5. Thanks, anyway—as intriguing as this sign is, I think I'll take Petrea's excellent advice and move along. And you should too, mon vieux. Can't be too careful, especially when you travel by scooter. ;~}

  7. The graffiti in Paris really seems to be on an up-tick......NO pun intended! It really is quite sad. This wall with it's stone and tiles is really quite beautiful, sans the spray paint!

  8. WOW Eric how impressive you are with your grafiti posts (I don't say other posts are not impressive, you know!). But with graffiti ones, I really wonder how you work. I cant' think you only wander in Paris and fall by mere chance in front of all these stunning graffitis you have already posted here. This is positively mysterious :)
Monnica's right. May be a question of intersection somewhere near the area of the graffiti.
Waiting for...Sometimes, I feel like there are two scales of time. The time that flies with nothing to wait for because everything is to be made for the day before! So this is when we run all the day. AND besides that scale, there is something really more interesting, there are things we wait for or at least things that need time. In this case, we feel like waiting and waiting and waiting. But isn't it a certain idea of a progress we all need? Have a nice weelk-end Eric. I'm looking forward to be where you currently seem to be :)

  10. Perhaps if you had hung around until ten minutes past ten you might have found out.
It's pretty obvious that the grafitti artist is a time traveller who rushes about posting warnings about accidents that he has already witnessed in the future.
Must be pretty hard work, a bit like posting photos every day on PDP.

  11. from cali -- lol! I'm hoping that there's no accident today, I have a full plate (literally) as I am hosting a tea party for my daughter. Eric, be safe on your scooter, and I agree with others that you should avoid rue Leon Frot for a while. :)

  12. LOL Petrea, I love the way you said this to Eric! + 1!!!!!
The 'Ten past ten' thing is for sure interesting and Drummond's reflexion is cunning but the problem is which 'ten past ten'? am or pm! I understand Eric could not wait alone... I think someone would have to take over him. And I'm a volunteer, because waiting is something I'm able to :D
BUT of course, no way possible to take over Eric for PDP posting. No possibility, really noone...
Don't say too loud this is hard, he might strongly believe it... ;)

  13. I like it... intriguing indeed.
I think it refers to nuclear issues.
    Have a nice rest-of-the-weekend.

  14. Great photo, you captured a lot of different textures in an abstract way -- I love it. Many graffiti artists never make it into main-stream art and their artwork gets removed by the city. Thanks for sharing this moment in time.
