Cour Carrée du Louvre

Sorry, I've had a terrible day today and no time to go out and take a photo (nor to file the ones I took of the white dinner party, needless to say!). So in the meantime here is one the the Cour Carrée du Louvre, that I took when it was beginning to get dark. Sorry, no time to complete my caption with historic facts, now I have to rush out...

  1. So sorry you had a bad day, Eric - thank goodness it's the weekend. My boyfriend and I were in this spot in November and he spent a looonnnggg time trying to get a shot just like this with about the same lighting. Our camera just kept making everything orange. He will be jealous.

  2. It's a beautiful shot, Eric, and so it can stand alone without historical facts. Sorry about your bad day and wishing you a much better one tomorrow.

  3. I agree with scooter. The image has its own eloquence and needs no more explanation than you've given.

  4. It is a marvelous shot. We should all have lousy days if they produce shots like this. Here's hoping that tomorrow is better.

  6. Unusual tone of your caption. Hope things are going better very soon. I'm worrying about the hard day you had and the reason of it. Too much of something or too few of another, like we say it in French, is often a reason.
The colors you chose in your picture are really those of the Paris by night that I love. Magic lights. Send you all the best.

  10. Thanks everyone.

Actually, nothing bad really happened to me.

I just had to deal with a few other people's problems (I was happy to, don't get me wrong!) and all this in the middle of all the things I had to do for my work, made it a little complicated ;-)

But you know, it was just one of those days...

  13. Eric, I do hope your Sunday is restful. Since, being the nice guy you are, you got tangled up in helping others, I wish you a little instant Karma, too!

This photo is so dramatic - I just love it. And, since I saw Midnight in Paris last night, opening this up was like theme day!! (I agree about the light, Flore.) I laughed all the way through the movie (esp. check out Adrian Brody) and, if you love Paris, its a real treat for the eyes. I may just have to buy it for those evenings when I've had a long day and need to get away to Paris....

  14. "A picture is worth a thousand words" - - no "factoids" needed when it's this nice a shot. Thanks for making time for us on your busy day :-)
