In Seine?

Yesterday morning (Sunday) at the Pont d'Iena (the bridge that goes from Le Trocadero to the Eiffel Tower), I witnessed a pretty unusual scene: swimmers in the Seine! I was not there by coincidence though, only because a communication agency had organized the event and sent a press release to let the media know! This operation was in fact conducted on behalf of the ice cream maker Miko (a French brand that now belongs to  Unilever) to "celebrate" the time change, leading up to summer). Pretty clever and fun. Dangerous and forbidden too! That is why they did not really swim, but really just splashed about ;-)

  1. I read that Miko was founded by a spanish. In Spain we had also Miko Ice Cream (I loved them) but was only the same name (well, Miko France let to Miko Spain to use the same name and logos by 28% business actions). At least, Nestlé bought it and the brand disappeared.

Does anyone know what it is happened with the CityDailyPhoto portal?

  3. Oh, well! At least for a couple of weeks Paris was an hour closer :)

Happy Spring! It does not look warm enough to be in that water. I hope they were paid well!

  8. If you enlarge this one you can see great details, and I don't mean of the swimmers. Peeking under the bridge gives you some nice views across the river.

Murcia, people have been asking that question about the portal for several days now. There's something wrong with the site but I don't know where to ask the question.

  11. About the portal : It's down due to a hacking problem (not of the portal in particular, but of the hosting company we use - cheap, obviously!)

It was supposed to be back on this weekend, but it's obviously not...

I'll give you more news when I have more.

  12. Thanks, Eric for the news on the portal...and for all you do. Great angle for this shot, too, getting bridge, sharks, inflatables, reflections and bodies!

  13. A bit chilly for me but I give them credit for splashing in the Seine. They are far braver than I would be!

  19. @Eric Ah, you shouldn't have said anything and just let us believe that the average Parisian likes to ride dolphins to work ;)
