More Eiffel tower today! But this time it's for a purpose... Yesterday (Friday), there was a gathering on the Trocadéro esplanade to raise awareness on two French journalists (Didier François et Edouard Elias) who have been abducted in Syria 6 months ago. I heard on the radio that they planned to release balloons in front of the Eiffel Tower on this occasion, so of course I was tempted to go. And I did... And did not regret it, for what I saw was really beautiful. Have a great weekend and enjoy your freedom.

And we are glad you didn't miss this special, if not sad, occasion. Have a good weekend Eric!
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful shot, Eric!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful display. I hope it helps get the journalists home.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, worthy cause.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo! What a beautiful symbol for a liberation ! If one day I had something very special to celebrate, I would like to see ballons from all colors flying like that in front of the Eiffel Tower or just next to her. Symbols are to be shared and I am glad you were tempted to go there and we to see the result in such a belle photo. I am enjoying this moment of freedom ! And thank you.
ReplyDeleteI really keep coming back to this and its surreal effect. Truly a beautiful and unique shot of the Eiffel Tower. It's not every day they release balloons, and let's hope it's ANY day now that they release the hostages.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this photo: the sky, the Tour Eiffel, the guy in profile on the right with the hat, and the symbolism. I have been thinking a lot about freedom, especially since the death of Nelson Mandela, who is one of my heroes. What action can we take on behalf of the journalists?
ReplyDeleteFYI the man with the hat in the bottom right of this photo is a Serge July, a famous French journalist. I discovered he was in the shot only afterwards!

ReplyDeleteI will enjoy my freedom today, and I will totally enjoy this photo! (I thought yesterday's was one of the best ever, but you topped it!) :)
ReplyDeleteA wonderful shot!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much ; this is truly beautiful and sooooo warm to my heart to know this. The coincidence with the death of Nelson Mandela is also great as a symbol for freedom and hope.
ReplyDeleteEverything about this photo is perfection, Eric!! What a treat for all of the "ET" lovers.
ReplyDeleteReader's choice:
ET =Eiffel Tower or Eric Tenin :)
Love, ET Suzy
Such a festive photo! Marvelous!
ReplyDeleteIf I had a prize to bestow for this photo, I would! Am loving this shot and cherishing my freedom.
ReplyDeleteDo you sell your photographs as prints? If so, I would love to buy this one. It is incredible!
